Xbox Next-Gen Plans Could Reportedly Include a Home Console and Handheld Device

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant world of gaming, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of a handheld Xbox! The idea of seamlessly transitioning between home and portable gaming, with my Xbox Game Pass library at my fingertips, is nothing short of a dream come true.

According to recent speculation, it appears that along with their planned next-generation home console, Microsoft might also be thinking about introducing a portable, handheld Xbox device as well.

According to Windows Central’s report, it appears that Microsoft might be considering a two-pronged approach for their next-generation consoles, much like the current Xbox Series X|S. This could potentially include an updated console model, as well as a portable gaming device resembling handheld devices such as the Steam Deck.

It seems quite probable that if Xbox Game Pass plays such a significant role in Microsoft’s plans, both your digital game purchases and your Game Pass library could be accessible on the supposed Xbox console as well as a handheld device. Although the validity of this report is uncertain, it aligns with comments made by Xbox head Phil Spencer about a potential handheld Xbox in the past.

Additionally, it’s been revealed that Microsoft is already preparing to mark the 25th anniversaries of Xbox and Halo, which are still over two years off in November 2026. It’s possible we’ll hear about what the next Xbox or future Xbox models could be around that time.
