This Week in Star Wars Comics: Vader vs Palpatine in a thrilling brawl!

As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, hailing from the frozen wastelands of Hoth and having survived countless battles against the Empire, I must say this week’s lineup of Star Wars comics has me more excited than a Wookiee at a bantha barbecue!

It’s now mid-September, and the seasonal shift is becoming noticeable. Pumpkin spice tastes are making a comeback, leaves are changing hues, and it seems like the Sith Lords are engaged in battles on Exegol. In other words, we’re experiencing typical September happenings.

Another significant chapter of a popular ongoing series concludes this month, so it’s time for another installment of “This Week in Star Wars Comics“!

Darth Vader #50

2020’s final installment of the Darth Vader comic series concludes at issue #50, gathering all key characters as Darth Vader amasses immense power to confront Emperor Palpatine. The destinies of characters such as Ochi of Bestoon, Sabe, Sly Moore, and others will be unveiled in this climactic showdown. Additionally, there’s a separate story featuring Sith Leia, as detailed by Marvel.com, and drawn by Luke Ross. This is an issue you don’t want to skip! Greg Pak penned Darth Vader #50, with artwork from Luke Ross, Raffaele Ienco, Paul Fry, and Adam Gorham. The cover artistry is credited to Leinil Francis Yu.

The High Republic Adventures #10

In “The High Republic Adventures #10,” penned by Daniel José Older and featuring artwork from Toni Bruno and Harvey Tolibao, the heroes are in a fight for the survival of a planet as it’s besieged by the enemy in Eriadu City. Lula Talisola, Zeen Mrala, and their comrades, including Sevran Tarkin, join forces to save the planet. Amidst the chaos of war, an old adversary makes an unexpected reappearance, leaving everyone to wonder if this former enemy is now friend or foe.

Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances

This week sees the release of one trade paperback, namely the adaptation of “Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances” by Timothy Zahn. In this story, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Vader join forces to tackle a problem in the Outer Rim. This scenario triggers flashbacks, showcasing Thrawn’s past partnership with Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. The adaptation is penned by Jody Houser.

That’s it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you next time in the splash pages!
