As a lifestyle expert, I must say that Selma Blair continues to inspire us with her resilience and strength. Her journey as a mother, particularly during her struggles with multiple sclerosis, is a testament to her unwavering love for her son, Arthur.

As a mother who has seen her own child grow and change over the years, I can truly appreciate the transformative power of self-expression through one’s appearance. Selma Blair’s son Arthur, in my opinion, is boldly embracing this power as he steps into his unique identity with a striking new look. Seeing him pose confidently alongside his actress mom in these rare photos this week fills me with a sense of admiration and pride for the young man he is becoming. It’s moments like these that remind us all to celebrate our loved ones’ personal journeys and support their individuality, no matter how dramatic or subtle the changes may be.

In the updated sentence: Thirteen-year-old Arthur, son of Selma’s former partner Jason Bleick (aged 53), sported a bleached-blond buzz cut that mirrored Selma’s hair color in their shared mirror selfie.

In a post, Selma wrote: ‘Is my son now taller than me by 5 feet 4 inches?’, as Arthur made the rocker sign beside her.

The pair also posed for another sweet selfie later in the day.

From 2010 to 2012, the actress known for Legally Blonde was romantically involved with Jason, who is famed as a fashion designer and the father of Arthur. In 2011, they became proud parents to their son Arthur together.

Blair openly talked about the tough beginning she encountered in motherhood due to her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, stating that she transitioned from a state of pure happiness during pregnancy to one of profound sadness following childbirth.

During an interview with Glamour Magazine, she shared insights about a challenging phase in her life. She explained that Multiple Sclerosis became noticeably active when she was giving birth. As any body might do under stress, hers began to experience distress, and at the time, she was unaware of having MS.

As soon as Arthur arrived, I transitioned from a state of pure joy during pregnancy to an overwhelming sense of despair.

Blair mentioned, “I felt overwhelmed by everything. Maintaining a relationship seemed impossible for me at the time. All I could focus on was being a mom. I was exhausted beyond belief, and I lacked the necessary support. I didn’t understand how to establish a support system.”

Despite being outgoing and affectionate, I find myself shouldering everything on my own. Yet, this child has transformed into my greatest obligation and source of immense affection, yet the transition has been incredibly challenging for me – extremely tough indeed.

At the age of 46, when she received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, it brought a sense of relief to her – it provided an explanation for the bodily discomfort and neurological issues she had been dealing with since her childhood days.

Previously, she disclosed that she and Jason have a versatile shared custody and coparenting plan, which has proven beneficial for them since her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.

In 2019, she shared with People that Jason plays a significant role in Arthur’s life and has been incredibly supportive. She expressed her immense pride in their relationship.

2022 saw Blair expressing her emotions during an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, revealing that it wasn’t until Arthur’s birth that she first experienced feelings of hope.

Discussing her harrowing childhood experiences, which included sexual abuse, alcohol addiction, and all, she expressed, “I didn’t realize there was hope within me until I beheld my son. He means more to me than anything. And I find myself contemplating, ‘Heaven, if he were to start drinking heavily now or hurt girls as people did to me, what lengths would I go to guide him back on the right path?'”

‘We love our kids the most, and we realize we want nothing to get in the way of that,’ she added.

Previously, at the 2023 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, Selma shared some insights about her wellbeing.

At the glamorous gathering I attended, I shared with Entertainment Tonight my updates after receiving my diagnosis. Since then, I’ve been diligently working on my recovery, and I’m happy to say there’s been significant advancement.

Additionally, the artist discussed their experience of going into remission and adapting to living with the condition. Initially, Blair disclosed that it took some time for them to regain strength following multiple sclerosis, but they are currently feeling significantly better and working on increasing their endurance.
