First trailer for Ayo Edebiri’s 100%-rated new movie Omni Loop
As a long-time sci-fi enthusiast with a soft spot for time loop narratives, I am beyond thrilled about Ayo Edebiri’s upcoming film, “Omni Loop.” The trailer has me hooked, and Mary-Louise Parker’s captivating performance as Zoya Lowe is just the cherry on top.
I can’t wait to dive into the futuristic world of “Omni Loop,” the new sci-fi flick by Ayo Edebiri, as it’s just unveiled its mind-blowing trailer! Mark your calendars for a September release in the US – it’s going to be an unforgettable ride!
The film by Bernardo Britto – who penned, guided, and co-edited its production – offers a thrilling journey through a time loop, delivering a powerful emotional impact.
In the role of main character Zoya Lowe, who learns from medical professionals about a life-threatening issue – a hole in her chest resembling a black hole – Mary-Louise Parker delivers an engaging performance. Remarkably, it’s disclosed that Zoya possesses the power to traverse different timelines whenever she consumes a specific pill. With her existence hanging in the balance, she seeks assistance from lab scientist Paula Campos to navigate these temporal shifts and find a solution for her predicament.
Following a brief spell of astonishment, Paula readily agrees, declaring with assurance that she and Zoya are capable of resolving the puzzle of time travel.
The trailer includes a montage of the duo involved in calculations and experiments before Zoya sighs out as she says, “We’ve tried everything, and still I can’t do it.”
It’s uncertain if Zoya can accomplish such a challenging task, but it appears that she may discover something new about herself during her journey of revisiting crucial stages in her past.
The ensemble for the show “Omni Loop” is completed with Chris Witaske, who starred alongside Edebiri in “The Bear”, Carlos Jacott from “Barbie”, Harris Yulin known for his role in “Ozark”, along with Hannah Pearl Utt and Steven Maier joining the cast.
Edebiri is currently involved in a new, thrilling production, having been added to the cast for Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming moral thriller titled “After The Hunt“.
In addition to the cast, the movie includes Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny. Julia Roberts portrays a college professor who encounters a significant change in both her life and career when a talented student alleges misconduct by one of her colleagues.
Omni Loop is released in US cinemas on September 20. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
