Robert Kirkman: Invincible could run for up to 8 seasons, maybe more

As a seasoned gamer and avid comic book enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the Invincible saga. With Robert Kirkman at the helm, I know we’re in for a wild ride. The precision that comes from adapting a completed series like Invincible is truly a game-changer, especially when compared to the ongoing evolution of The Walking Dead.

Robert Kirkman, an unconquerable comic book creator, isn’t new to witnessing his comics transformed for TV screens. Indeed, he’s had significant triumphs in the past with “The Walking Dead,” a series that spanned over 11 seasons and lives on through its spin-offs today.

With Invincible, the creators are working from a completed comic series, enabling them to plan with precision. Unlike The Walking Dead writers who were simultaneously writing the comic and producing the TV show, this advantage allows the Invincible team to have a complete set of comics and a definitive end goal in sight. It’s exciting for fans to know that only a small portion of the story has been adapted thus far, with plenty more seasons worth of content still to come.

According to Kirkman, he anticipates “Invincible” to span around 7 or 8 seasons as it follows the storyline from the comics.

Kirkman is open-minded about extending the series if Prime Video wishes to commission more seasons. He suggests that as long as they continue enjoying the work and Prime Video remains supportive, the show could potentially run for longer. In other words, he’s game for additional seasons!

Although Invincible concludes quite decisively, Amazon Prime could explore extending the narrative in creative ways. For instance, they might develop a new tale that builds upon the existing adventure, or perhaps spinoffs could be a possibility. Notably, there are several spinoff comics based on Invincible, offering an example of this approach. Additionally, Prime Video has already initiated one spinoff project, focusing on the Atom Eve origin story. In my opinion, a prequel centered around Omni-Man would be captivating!

Every episode of Invincible season 3 “feels like a finale”

As I wrap up season 2 of Invincible, it’s clear that Mark Grayson, aka me, is stuck on Earth with a mission to prepare it for the Viltrumite invasion – a task I can’t bring myself to carry out. Meanwhile, Omni-Man, who was once my mentor and father figure, has turned against his own people and become an adversary. The stage is set for all-out war. As Kirkman puts it, each episode in season 3 will have the energy and intensity of a finale!

As a dedicated gamer, I can tell you that the excitement for this season is off the charts! It’s jam-packed with intense plot developments, and it feels like every single episode is leading up to a grand climax. Just like how each level in an epic game builds towards the final boss, each episode seems to be setting us up for a season finale-like experience.

The third season of the unconquerable series is tentatively scheduled for a debut around 2025, though an official release date hasn’t been announced just yet. Kirkman shared his enthusiasm, saying he can’t wait to watch it because it promises to be quite spectacular.
