Fuerza Regida's experimental 'Pero No Te Enamores' debuts at No. 2 on Billboard Latin Albums chart

As a devoted fan of Fuerza Regida, I can confidently say that their latest album “Pero No Te Enamores” is a testament to the power of taking risks and embracing diversity. This dynamic group has once again proven that they are not just breaking boundaries, but shattering them with their unique blend of corridos, musica Mexicana, and Jersey club music.

Force Regida dared to take chances, and it proved beneficial for them. Their recent Jersey-corrido album titled “Pero No Te Enamores” made a successful debut, ranking second on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and twenty-third on the Billboard 200 chart.

As a music enthusiast who has been following their career since the early 2000s, I must admit that it’s always exciting to see my favorite Latin artists making history and breaking records in the industry. This latest achievement of their seventh album charting on the Top Latin Album chart is no exception. Having grown up listening to their music, I can attest to the fact that they have consistently delivered high-quality albums that resonate with fans worldwide. The release of this 15-track set is yet another testament to their unwavering dedication and talent as musicians.

Fuerza Regida now shares the distinction with a select group of Latin artists, such as Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, and Karol G, by having two of their albums appear on the Billboard 200 list.

After being introduced, the LP climbed to number 19 on the overall Top Streaming Albums chart, with Peso Pluma’s “Exodo” holding the third spot on the Billboard 200 in June, leading ahead of it.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that within just two days of its July 25 release, “Pero No Te Enamores” skyrocketed to the top spot on Apple Music across all genres! This groundbreaking achievement marks a historic milestone as we, Mexican artists, claimed the number one position on this streaming giant. We’re proudly following in the footsteps of Bad Bunny and Karol G, making us the third Latino act to achieve such an incredible feat.

Fuerza Regida’s lead singer Jesus Ortiz Pas (also known as JOP) revealed that their recent project was a bold step, blending corridos, Mexican music, and Jersey club sounds. Tracks like “Freestyle” and “Fresita” (featuring Bellakath) merge fast-paced house, hip-hop, and drill rhythms prevalent in the Jersey scene with JOP’s gritty corrido style and suggestive lyrics.

“If you don’t take the risk, there’s no reward,” JOP said to De Los.

As a music enthusiast who grew up listening to a mix of genres, I find the described album to be particularly intriguing. The fusion of EDM and reggaeton caught my attention immediately, as it reflects the ever-evolving nature of modern music. Having followed Maluma’s career for some time now, his collaborations on this album add an element of excitement and anticipation. I have also been a fan of Major Lazer and Afrojack for quite some time, so their contributions further solidify my interest in the album. Overall, the unique blend of styles and big-name collaborators make this album an exciting addition to my playlist.

During April, the band filled massive arenas in Phoenix, Dallas, and Los Angeles for their “Don’t Fall in Love (Pero No Te Enamores)” summer tour, leading to extra shows being scheduled.

“JOP stated that many individuals in the United States strongly associate with Fuerza Regida. He explained that these people, who may not be deeply familiar with it, understand that the culture they’re embracing is distinctly developing here, rather than being carried over from elsewhere.”

The band commenced its tour on June 6 in Austin, Texas (as per Ticketmaster), and plans to conclude it on December 15 in Nashville. Additionally, they are poised to make history by being the first Mexican music act to perform two consecutive shows at the newly-built Intuit Dome on November 15 and 16.

As a die-hard fan last year, I was lucky enough to witness the incredible run of the band’s Otra Peda Tour, which filled stadiums from July to October! According to Pollstar, they raked in an astounding $31.3 million during this period – talk about a hit tour!
