Two individuals, reportedly self-radicalized through online resources, were preparing an assault on Vienna, with the 19-year-old showing a keen interest in disrupting Taylor Swift’s concert there, as confirmed by Ruf. He added that authorities were aware of ‘preparatory actions’ for a possible attack.

The names of the suspects have not been released yet. 

At first, Ruf emphasized the need for thorough inspections at the entrance, advising attendees to make sure they arrive well before the concert starts.

Each day, approximately 65,000 people were predicted to attend the concerts inside the venue, while another 10,000 to 15,000 spectators were expected to gather outside, as stated by the police.

Vienna Police Chief Gerhard Purst stated that, although a specific threat had been significantly reduced, there was still enough general risk to warrant heightened security measures.
