Raydish: “I believe NA will soon regain our dominance”
As a huge Brawlhalla fan and avid follower of the competitive scene, I was thrilled to read about Raydish‘s recent victory at the North America Trial of Heimdall event. It’s always inspiring to see the passion and dedication that players like Raydish put into their craft.
During this interview, the American Brawlhalla champion discusses his latest victories at tournaments, shares insights about Red Raptor – the game itself – and provides additional information.
In 2024, the majority of Brawlhalla tournaments took place online, leaving us with limited opportunities to meet the people behind the virtual characters. To bridge this gap, we contacted Rayhan “Raydish” Khan following his triumph at the North America (NA) Trial of Heimdall event for a Q&A session and to learn more about the talented player.
At the inaugural Summer Circle competition for Brawlhalla’s elite players, Raydish showcased his might and panache by exclusively using Red Raptor. Notably, this impressive figure consistently ranks among the best Brawlhalla players globally. He frequently secures high rankings in both North American and international events.
At Esports.gg, we’d like to extend our congratulations for emerging victorious in the Trial of Heimdall! How thrilled are you with your performance so far in the Summer Circle? Do you believe you have a chance to make it back to the Royale?
As a seasoned racer with numerous victories under my belt, including winning the first trial at Heimdall in the last Winter Circuit, I can confidently say that starting the season with a victory at this prestigious event is an exhilarating experience. Not only does it provide me with a strong foundation for the rest of the circuit, but it also comes with a more generous prize purse than the other trials. With my consistent performance, I am optimistic that I will qualify for the Royale and add another achievement to my racing career.

Is the online environment better for you? Do you enjoy offline tournaments?
In my perspective, playing online has its advantages as it puts me in a familiar setting that enhances my gaming skills. However, despite excelling more often in online matches, I personally find greater joy and challenge in participating in traditional offline tournaments.
South American men have been making a significant impact in international competitions lately. What could be the reason behind their impressive performance? Do you believe North America will regain its dominant position soon?
Based on my personal experiences in competitive gaming against South American teams over the past year or so, I find it perplexing how they have managed to maintain their dominance. However, I’ve observed a trend among North American (NA) professional gamers; many of them seem to have reduced their grind time significantly.
Red Raptor and other legends
I’ve spent quite some time now exploring the thrilling world of Red Raptor in my favorite game. I must admit, there’s just something about this character that hooks me in every time I play. His unique abilities and signature moves add an exciting layer to the gameplay experience for me.
As someone who’s been playing Raptor for a long time now, I can honestly say that his weapons are what really draw me to him as a character. When Raptor first came out, I was one of the few players who truly appreciated the value of Boots. It synergized perfectly with my playstyle, which revolved heavily around Orb manipulation.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve found myself drawn to various champions in different games over time. But switching from my beloved mains to new legends isn’t always an easy decision. It takes some persuasion for me to let go and give a new character a try.
Raydish: Initially, I gained recognition for being an exceptional Petra player, dedicating around two years to mastering her. Nevertheless, when Raptor was introduced, I found the transition to main him surprisingly effortless. I might consider other Legend classes such as Orb or Axe, or even Ezio with an improved Orb kit.
Is it difficult for you when an opponent changes their legend mid-match?
In simpler terms, it’s not always the case with Raydish. The outcome hinges on what their selection is and whether I am at a disadvantage against it.
Brawlhalla
Why do you like Brawlhalla?
Raydish: For me, Brawlhalla stands out due to its uncomplicated charm. I’m more of a minimalist gamer who prefers straightforward games to complex ones. The combat and character design in Brawlhalla perfectly suit my preferences, making it an ideal fighting game for someone like me.
The Brawlhalla Summer Circuit 2024 features three additional Trials: Skuld from August 3rd to 4th, Laufey on the 24th and 25th, and Freya during September 14th and 15th. It’s intriguing to observe Raydish’s skills at these events and possibly at the Royale Invitational from October 11th to 13th.
