Unreleased Beyoncé music stolen in break-in. Man pleads guilty, but music still missing

A man who stole unreleased Beyoncé music from a car last summer has admitted his guilt and will serve time in prison as a result.

I was really shocked to hear about Kelvin Evans’ case. Apparently, the 41-year-old pleaded guilty to breaking into a car and trespassing in Fulton County, Georgia. The judge, Jane C. Barwick, sentenced him to two years in prison, followed by three years of probation. I also read that he was specifically told to stay away from the people involved and where the incident happened, which seems like a sensible precaution.

Less than a year after the theft, Evans received a sentence for stealing unreleased music belonging to a popular singer. Police say the incident occurred in Atlanta when Evans broke into a Jeep rented by the singer’s choreographer and a dancer while they were at a restaurant. The artists were in town preparing for a four-night performance at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium as part of the Cowboy Carter tour.

Music

Okay, so this is a bizarre one. Apparently, someone broke into a car belonging to one of Beyoncé’s choreographers in Atlanta last week and made off with some seriously valuable items – including unreleased Beyoncé tracks! Can you imagine? Luckily, the police have identified a suspect and have a warrant for their arrest, which is good news, but the thought of lost, unheard Queen Bey music is a little unsettling, to be honest.

According to the police report, Evans broke a car window and stole two suitcases. Inside were two computers, five flash drives containing unreleased music and videos, tour plans including stage designs and set lists from previous and upcoming shows. He also took clothing, expensive headphones, and designer sunglasses.

Evans was arrested by police in August and formally accused of a crime in October. He initially denied the charges in January and recently turned down a plea bargain offered by prosecutors.

Despite his arrest, police have not recovered the stolen items.

Even before the trial began, it seemed unlikely that Beyoncé would release new music. There had been rumors online that she might drop the final part of her planned three-album project during the summer, but her publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, quickly shut down those speculations in late April.

“This is unequivocally false!!” Noel-Schure posted on X.
