Tom Hardy thriller MobLand ‘is renewed for a third season’ after Pierce Brosnan was forced to defend his ‘all over the place’ Irish accent

MobLand has reportedly been confirmed for ANOTHER series.

The crime drama, created by Ronan Bennett, hit our screens on Paramount+ in March last year.

The story centers around the Harrigan family, a fictional group who wield significant power within London’s criminal world.

The show’s first season had 10 episodes and featured a talented cast including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, and Anson Boon.

A second season has been confirmed for June 2025, and the cast has already begun filming.

Fans will be happy to know that there will be a third series to follow.

According to a source close to the show, strong viewership and positive reviews have led network executives to decide it’s worth continuing the series.

The film is a high-quality production directed by Guy Ritchie and has been praised by both critics and audiences.

‘But initially all the talk was about the accents and Pierce in particular.’

The Daily Mail have contacted Paramount+ for comment.

MobLand was a big success when it first came out in 2025, and a lot of viewers noticed Pierce’s Irish accent.

Last May, he responded to criticism about his Irish accent on the show, explaining that it was authentic despite being born and raised in Ireland. Some critics had claimed his accent was inconsistent.

The Irish Independent didn’t enjoy the show, describing it as disorganized and a major distraction in their review.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, the actor, originally from Drogheda, County Louth, explained that playing the family head, Conrad Harrigan, required him to use a more pronounced Irish accent than his natural one.

‘My own accent is very soft,’ he explained. ‘Conrad’s accent is a million miles away from me.’

Conrad’s accent, which comes from County Kerry in southwestern Ireland, has received mixed reactions from viewers. He explains that it’s based on a real person recommended to him by his dialect coach.

I explained to him that I required an accent from County Kerry. He then gave me the name of someone, I looked them up online, and that’s how I found the accent I needed.

‘And so, I just gave it full tilt.’

Last month, Pierce was seen on the set of MobLand season two sporting sunglasses and a carefully styled hairstyle, giving off a tough, gangster-like vibe.

Oh my gosh, I just saw him on set! He looked incredible, even trying to be incognito. His grey hair was perfectly slicked back, and he was bundled up in this amazing brown jacket. He had sunglasses on and a flat cap, like he thought that would hide him from all of us fans! It just made him even more mysterious and, honestly, even more gorgeous.

As a big fan, I noticed the scenes definitely hinted that Pierce Brosnan’s character was up to no good again, and it looked like he was involved in some questionable dealings with Emmett J. Scanlan’s character. It was classic intrigue, and I can’t wait to see where it leads!

In January, a large explosion occurred on the set of Guy Ritchie’s show, MobLand, starring Tom Hardy, prompting a response from fire crews.

MobLand has received an impressive 8.3 stars out of 10 on IMDB, as well as 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
