They grow up so fast! Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley’s son spotted for the first time as a toddler as the family steps out in Los Angeles

Fans are used to seeing Margot Robbie dressed to the nines on the red carpet. 

The 35-year-old Australian actress was spotted enjoying a day out with her husband, Tom Ackerley, also 35, and their 17-month-old son in Los Angeles, taking on the role of mom for the day.

Margot was seen leaving what appeared to be a casual family outing, carrying her young child in her arms. The child’s name hasn’t been made public yet.

Margot traded her typical fancy dresses for a loose-fitting striped shirt, black pants, and comfortable brown shoes.

She completed her outfit with a quilted Chanel handbag and sunglasses, and her freshly cut bob was styled with a relaxed side part.

Her husband, a British film producer, wore a casual grey sweatshirt and black pants. Their son was cozy in a striped brown and turquoise onesie.

The outing marks the first time fans have seen the ultra-private couple’s child since mid-2025. 

Margot and Tom welcomed their son on October 17, 2024.

Although the couple hasn’t revealed his name, Margot has talked before about how much she enjoys being a mother.

In August last year, the Barbie star told Entertainment Tonight that being a mother was ‘the best’.

She explained that trying to describe the experience to parents is usually unnecessary – they already understand. If they don’t, she added, it’s likely just not interesting to them.

‘So, it’s kind of like, ‘It’s the best,’ you know?’ the actress added.

Margot spoke briefly about her son again during an interview with Access Hollywood days later. 

While recording an interview about her latest movie, ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,’ the actress’s son began to cry.

‘I’m so sorry by the way for how loud my baby is,’ Margot, whose son was off camera, said.

‘It’s a great soundtrack isn’t it? Great soundtrack!’ her co-star Colin Farrell, 49, chimed in.

During an interview with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans, there was a short pause before the conversation continued with enthusiastic praise for Margot Robbie’s recent motherhood.

You know, when I was chatting with Margot recently, something so relatable happened. I had to pause for a moment because I just had to ask her – isn’t there a part of every parent that just beams with pride and wants to shout, ‘That’s my kid!’ when they see their child succeeding? It was such a sweet, human moment.

She often finds herself thinking, ‘That’s my baby!’ whenever she wants to leave, and reminded Colin that he’s been a part of her child’s life and seen him grow up.

Margot announced she was pregnant in July 2024, and she and her partner took a relaxing getaway to Sardinia, Italy, at the end of August to enjoy time together before the baby arrived.

Married in 2016, they collaborate as producers on several projects, such as Wuthering Heights, through their company, LuckyChap Entertainment.
