It appears Dylan Alcott, the Paralympic athlete, is taking guidance from Grace Tame, another Australian of the Year, on how to handle his recent public split.
Last year, Tame ended her engagement with Max Heerey without making a public announcement. She may have hoped the relationship, which had received a lot of public attention through social media, events, and magazines, would simply fade from memory.
We announced back in January 2025 that the couple had broken up, and Tame still hasn’t confirmed the split publicly.
I’ve been following Alcott and Chantelle Otten‘s relationship for a while now, and it looks like things are starting to heat up – or maybe even cool down. It feels like something’s happening with them, and I’m definitely keeping an eye on it. It’s interesting because Chantelle is a sexologist, which adds another layer to their dynamic, and I’m curious to see how things unfold.
The couple, once constantly together, are now living completely separate lives. Adding to the public’s fascination with their breakup is the fact that neither of them has commented on it.
This week, the Daily Mail tried several times to reach Otten, Alcott, and their teams. When we called, one person said they were on vacation and gave us another agent’s number, but no one answered there either.
Talk of a breakup began last year when Otten obtained a U.S. work visa, though both of them stated they were still together at the time.
Now, Otten, age 32, lives in New York City, while Alcott, 35, still lives in Australia. They don’t interact much on social media, and it doesn’t seem like they’re a couple longing to be together.
I remember exactly when Sarah and Ben first connected! It was back in 2018 at a book signing. Ben was there to meet Sarah, whose memoir, Able, is incredibly inspiring – I’ve read it multiple times. It was such a lovely event, and clearly a special one for them both!
For around six years, they regularly shared glimpses of their relationship on social media and openly discussed it, including their private life, in interviews.
Alcott specifically mentioned that his disability didn’t prevent him from having a satisfying sexual relationship with the psychosexologist, who previously practiced in Melbourne.
But in the last 18 months or so, things have been suspiciously quiet between the pair.
The two haven’t been spotted together much lately, and haven’t publicly acknowledged each other on social media since late 2024.
This couple was once known for openly displaying their affection, to the point where a video of them using a sex toy in a restaurant with friends didn’t seem unusual.

It’s completely normal for couples to split up or drift apart, and for celebrities to want more privacy after being in the public eye. However, the complete silence – no one will say whether or not they’ve broken up – is starting to feel a little strange, honestly.
It appears Otten has moved to New York to grow her career as a sexologist and social media personality.
Okay, so she announced she was moving to the US, which was amazing, but honestly? She didn’t say anything about where Alcott would be in all of this! It’s driving me crazy! Like, what about them? Is this American dream happening without him? I need answers!

Alcott told the Mail last year he wasn’t sure that he would be following Otten to America.
Recently, he’s been sharing a lot on social media showing him golfing with friends and celebrating at his Ability Fest event at The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne.
The previous Australian of the Year is now giving motivational speeches, working more closely with the sports world, and partnering with brands as an ambassador.
Otten used to always accompany him to events, but she hasn’t been seen with him in public recently.
He last publicly mentioned Otten in December 2024, sharing a photo of them at a wedding. She briefly appeared with their dachshund in a New Year’s Eve highlight video a year later. Interestingly, the caption for that post read: ‘2025. A year of highs and lows.’
Otten last posted about Alcott on her social media in early 2024, showing pictures of them together at the Australian Grand Prix.
Otten shared a video in January this year, uploading a ‘recap’ of her 2025.
The video showed her dog, Sauce, and a trip to the hair salon, but it didn’t mention anything about Alcott being in her life.
She wrote a long message explaining that 2025 would be a year for letting go of things that no longer served her.
Oh my gosh, she seriously thanked everyone – her family, friends, her whole team, sponsors, staff… and every single patient who believed in her this year! It was just the sweetest thing. Honestly, I was a little bummed to see Alcott didn’t make it, but she’s amazing and deserves all the support she gets!
It’s become very clear what’s happening, or they’re keeping things so secret it’s as if they’ve disappeared.
We’ve tried repeatedly to confirm if they’re still together, and the most likely explanation is that they’re trying to keep any split private and out of the news.
If our assumption that they’ve broken up is incorrect and they’re still together, it’s strange that they suddenly stopped publicly acknowledging their relationship online – they used to share a lot about each other, but now they barely mention each other.
If they’ve decided on a long-distance relationship, why haven’t they discussed the practicalities of making it work with Otten living in New York and Alcott in Melbourne?
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve definitely noticed this couple wasn’t afraid to share the personal side of their romance with the world. And honestly, it’s pretty clear that being together really helped both of them become more well-known – it was a win-win for their public images.

She confirmed they are still a couple and have been together for six years, dismissing rumors about their relationship as uninteresting.
We found Alcott at Melbourne Airport just as he was leaving for a charity event with his Dylan Alcott Foundation.
The wheelchair tennis champion confirmed they were still a couple, noting that they share the same home.
Regarding her U.S. work visa, Otten stated that rumors were premature and she hadn’t finalized her plans to move abroad.
She recently received her visa but hasn’t decided what she’s going to do with it yet. She just found out it was approved.
Meanwhile, Alcott revealed at the time that he did not have an American working visa.
When asked about potentially moving to the US with his girlfriend, he replied that it might happen someday, but he doesn’t have a visa yet and they’ll have to see how things go.
