‘The Bear’ actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach wins Emmy for the second year in a row
As a seasoned cinephile with decades of film-watching under my belt, I must say that “The Bear” has truly become the culinary masterpiece of modern television. Having seen a fair share of shows come and go, this one stands out like a Michelin-starred dish among a buffet of fast food.
On the menu at the Emmy Awards: more trophies for “The Bear.”
Supporting actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach won for his performance for the second year in a row.
Originating from Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo, the fast-paced yet reflective FX show revolves around Carmy, portrayed by Jeremy Allen White. Carmy is a gifted but troubled chef who makes a significant change by converting his family’s sandwich shop into an upscale restaurant.
This year, “The Bear” has become the record-breaking comedy series in terms of Emmy nominations with an impressive total of 23. Previously held by “30 Rock,” which earned 22 nominations back in 2009.
The award nominations for the show featured Jeremy Allen White in the lead actor category, Ayo Edebiri for best actress, along with supporting actors Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas. Additionally, there were two directing nominations given to Storer and Ramy Youssef, and one for writing to both Storer and Calo.
At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the show won guest acting prizes for Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis, both recognized for their roles in the turbulent Season 2 episode “Fishes.” Additionally, it received awards for casting, cinematography, video editing, sound editing, and sound mixing.
Curtis remarked in her acceptance speech that it’s quite challenging to be the cause of someone’s distress. However, witnessing this diverse group of individuals unite – encompassing both the fictional kitchen family and their real-life counterparts – and seeing them resolve their issues is incredibly surprising to me, given that I’m fortunate enough to receive this opportunity at this stage in my life.
As a film enthusiast, I’d like to point out that Chris Storer is the mastermind behind the scenes. Each and every individual – from the crew members to the actors, editors, and even those clockwork kitchen timers – they’re all the ingredients that make up this exquisite, stunning, breathtaking work of art on television.
During the recent Emmy Awards ceremony, a comedy series set a new record by winning a staggering 10 Primetime Emmys in a single year. Among these accolades were acting awards for White, Moss-Bachrach, and Edebiri.
