Temuera Morrison is still hopeful about Boba Fett's Star Wars future

As a dedicated Star Wars fan with over three decades of fandom under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest news about Boba Fett’s future has left me feeling like a Tatooine sandstorm – full of twists and turns! The recent reports on Temuera Morrison’s statements at FAN EXPO Chicago have caused quite the stir, with many fans fearing we might not see our favorite bounty hunter again. But, as Yoda always says, “Don’t be afraid of the dark side.”

It seems there’s been a bit of misunderstanding concerning the information Temuera Morrison shared about Boba Fett’s future, which was discussed during his “From Clone Troopers to Bounty Hunters” panel at FAN EXPO Chicago on Screen Rant.

Based on multiple news sources, it was claimed that Temuera allegedly shared with fans in Chicago his belief that the unfavorable response to The Book of Boba Fett might affect Boba’s role in the franchise moving forward. However, this is not an accurate representation of what he said. Instead, Morrison remains optimistic, expressing, “I’m still waiting for a call, truth be told,” and, “I think we’ve just been put on hold for a moment. Perhaps we’ll be taken off the shelf again later.”

I think we’re just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later.

Temuera Morrison.

In a slightly different wording: Although Screen Rant perceived Morrison’s statement as an implied denial of his involvement in “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” Morrison maintained ambiguity on the matter, stating he’s still awaiting contact from Lucasfilm. Unfortunately, some media outlets misquoted Morrison, causing a widespread misunderstanding among fans who were disheartened to learn that Boba Fett might not return.

Approach anything Morrison says with a hint of skepticism, as anyone linked to the film is likely to deny their involvement. Actors are contractually obligated to keep quiet about upcoming productions, and Morrison falls under this rule too. The idea that Boba Fett will reappear in “The Mandalorian and Grogu” seems plausible, especially considering his extensive background as an empire-allied bounty hunter. Since the protagonist Din Djarin is venturing back into bounty hunting and targeting Imperial Remnants, this could pave the way for Boba’s return.

As an ardent Star Wars fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about the possibility of seeing Boba Fett grace our screens once more in another epic Star Wars film. The charismatic Temuera Morrison, a name synonymous with Star Wars, breathes life into this iconic character from the original trilogy. In the latest series, Boba Fett and Din Djarin forged an unbreakable bond, a testament to their shared Mandalorian heritage. Their compelling partnership in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 and “The Book of Boba Fett” has left me eagerly anticipating a reunion on the big screen.

Due to Tatooine’s prominence in the Star Wars saga and its recurring role in The Mandalorian, it’s quite probable that this desert world will appear in The Mandalorian and Grogu. When it does, tracing the whereabouts of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand is crucial to preserve storyline consistency and prevent narrative inconsistencies. Even a brief encounter between Din and Boba would be fitting, given their growing friendship and mutual trust.

Essentially, if you’re fond of Boba Fett, keep your spirits high and stay alert for further announcements about his upcoming exploits.

The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are streaming on Disney+.
