Tammy Hembrow’s ‘eyebrow-raising’ flirty fling with a double amputee shark attack survivor on set of her new TV show stuns insiders: ‘It wasn’t exactly subtle’

It’s the unexpected pairing no one saw coming.

People on set noticed that influencer Tammy Hembrow and Shark Tank host Paul de Gelder became quite close while filming their new show in the Bahamas.

The new Channel Nine series, coming later this year, will challenge Australian celebrities by facing them with their biggest fear: sharks.

Tammy, age 31, will be appearing with well-known personalities including Scott Cam, host of The Block, NRL player Sam Thaiday, actor and former NRL star Matt Nable, Home & Away’s Lynne McGranger, and Olympic swimmer Ariane Titmus.

Paul, a 47-year-old who survived a shark attack and lost both legs, and Annie Guttridge, a shark conservationist, will lead the series.

Paul lost his right hand and leg in a Sydney Harbour bull shark attack in 2009.

Okay, so the new show is supposed to be full of action and suspense, but honestly? From what I’m hearing, the atmosphere on set was more like a fun, flirty vacation – think ‘Love Island’ vibes. It sounds like everyone was getting along a little too well to be creating all that drama!

People on set noticed a romantic connection developing between Tammy and Paul during breaks while filming, and it quickly became the talk of everyone involved.

‘People definitely noticed the chemistry,’ a source told Daily Mail. 

‘There was a lot of laughter, a lot of flirting… it wasn’t exactly subtle.’

The supposed link between them reportedly caught the production team off guard, and rumors started circulating quickly among the crew.

‘It wasn’t something anyone expected,’ the source added. 

There were two strong personalities clashing, and it led to a noticeable tension on set.

Company leaders were especially surprised by the rumours, considering the shoot was a major production that happened in late November and early December 2025.

‘Channel Nine didn’t see that one coming,’ the source said. ‘It definitely raised a few eyebrows.’

Although the initial excitement surrounding the Bahamas connection has faded in the local media, sources suggest it was likely just a brief, romantic fling.

According to a source, when people are removed from their usual surroundings, they tend to become more relaxed and open.

Before publicly revealing her relationship with Grayson Te Moana in February, Tammy was reportedly seen having a romantic encounter in the Bahamas.

The couple made their first public appearance together in February at the Sydney premiere of the movie Wuthering Heights.

I couldn’t believe it when I found out Grayson had a serious girlfriend before Tammy! Apparently, her name was Jemma Hammett, and the reports said she and her whole family were absolutely horrified to discover he was with Tammy. Like, can you imagine? Poor Jemma, but honestly, Grayson and Tammy are meant to be, so it’s her loss!

Jemma’s sister, Amelia, told The Daily Telegraph that Grayson’s very public new relationship with Tammy had been quite embarrassing for the family.

‘I only care about my baby sister in this whole ordeal, as most people would,’ Amelia said.

Honestly, I’m just mortified by all the publicity surrounding this. It’s baffling to me how he didn’t anticipate things falling apart like this. He’s always dreamed of this kind of attention, but it’s happening for all the wrong reasons, and it’s really disappointing to watch.

She finished by saying she was speaking out to protect other young women.

Grayson previously told Daily Mail that he and Jemma were never in a serious relationship.

Grayson clarified that the stories circulating online about his personal life aren’t true. He confirmed he hasn’t been in a relationship for more than three years.

‘The claims circulating are simply false.’

Grayson is an aspiring model and has 4,300 followers on Instagram.
