Actor Alan Ritchson, known for his action roles, was reportedly involved in a physical fight with a neighbor in Tennessee on Sunday.
A video obtained by TMZ shows actor Alan Ritchson, 43, seemingly hitting someone multiple times. The incident reportedly happened while his two sons, who were on motorbikes, were present.
The video shows the actor, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall and has previously discussed his bipolar disorder, repeatedly punching a man who is on the ground.
According to Ronnie Taylor, who claims to be the victim, the situation began on Saturday when Ritchson rode his green Kawasaki motorcycle through their peaceful, well-to-do neighborhood.
Taylor claimed the performer was speeding, revving his engine loudly, and creating a disturbance.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Ritchson’s representative for comment.
The neighbor says he flipped Ritchson off, and the actor responded in kind.
The next day, around noon, Ritchson rode through the neighborhood again, this time with two children biking alongside him, and reportedly drove too fast.
Taylor asked Ritchson, ‘Can you f*****g stop this please,’ which is when the situation escalated.
The man who reported the incident said that Ritchson hit him in the face and kicked him, according to his police report.
He said the actor fell off his bicycle, then got up and tried to hit him with it.
Taylor claimed Ritchson struck him multiple times, including at least once in the back of the head.
He said neighbors saw what happened, and while he was bruised and swollen, he didn’t need to go to the hospital.
I’ve been following this closely, and it seems like the police are definitely looking into something. I heard from a reliable source that an investigation is happening, but so far, no one has been arrested. It’s all still developing, but it’s good to know they’re on it!
The video shows Ritchson retrieving his helmet and motorcycle after a reported altercation with Taylor.
He lost control of the bicycle, causing it to swerve onto the grass. At the same time, Taylor was seen retrieving something from the ground, approaching Ritchson, and then walking away. Ritchson remounted his bike and rode off, with the two children following behind.
Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine, who he married in 2006 after meeting in a college dance class, have three sons together.
He is best known for playing Jack Reacher in the Amazon Prime Video action series Reacher.
In October 2024, Alan Ritchson announced that “Reacher” had been renewed for a fourth season. He shared a photo of himself breaking a car window and jokingly asked fans what he’d get if he revealed details about the next season’s source material.
The fourth season of the action-packed thriller will be released in 2026.
The show is inspired by Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books and features Alan Ritchson as the main character, a former military police officer who uses his fighting abilities and strong build to defeat criminals.
Season four will follow Child’s 2009 book, Gone Tomorrow.
The show first launched in 2022 and rapidly gained popularity as one of the top series on Amazon’s streaming service.
Ritchson has also appeared in several other TV shows, including Smallville, Blue Mountain State, Blood Drive, and Titans.
He’s known for his movie roles including Raphael in the 2014 and 2016 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, as well as appearances in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), Lazer Team (2015), and Fast X (2023).
In 2024, Ritchson shared that he had struggled with suicidal thoughts in 2019, but thinking about his sons gave him a reason to keep going.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ritchson shared that he struggled with severe depression and had to complete editing his first film as director, Dark Web: Cicada 3301, while confined to bed.
After the suicide attempt, he sought help from a doctor who diagnosed him with bipolar disorder.
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder shortly after that, and honestly, it was a relief to finally understand what was happening and have a name for it.
A friend then suggested he try MDMA therapy with his wife Catherine.
I had a major realization that completely changed my perspective for the better. Research shows MDMA can be a helpful treatment for PTSD, especially when used with talk therapy for veterans and others.
Okay, so after his therapy session, it finally clicked for him! He was doing a lot of soul-searching, you know, really digging deep into what it all means. And honestly? It was beautiful. He realized his whole reason for being, his purpose, is just…to make the world a little brighter and help people. It sounds cheesy, I know, but hearing him say it? It just…made everything make sense. He’s going to dedicate his life to serving others, and I’m just so incredibly proud!
A sudden realization made Ritchson want a more satisfying career, which eventually led to his role in the TV show Reacher.
In his interview, Ritchson revealed he experienced sexual assault while working as a model.
