Okay, so Marvel just announced some changes to their movie plans, and they’re adding two new films to the MCU! I’m so excited – there’s so much they could do with all these characters and stories, it’s awesome to think about what they’ll announce next.
The popular series is currently in its sixth major storyline. Later this year, the story will continue with the releases of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.
With Avengers: Secret Wars set to wrap up the Multiverse Saga in December 2027, the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is uncertain, though several projects are already planned. Recent reports indicate that even more new projects have now been officially approved.

According to Deadline, a movie previously planned for release on February 18, 2028, will now come out on July 28, 2028. Another unnamed project that was set for November 10, 2028, has been removed from the release schedule.
Marvel Studios has added a new movie to its 2028 schedule, bringing the total to three films for that year. They are currently planned for release on May 5th, July (date unspecified), and December 15th.
What to Read Next
Two new dates – May 4th and July 13th, 2029 – have been added to the film schedule, although it’s currently unknown what movies will be released then. However, since we’ve heard hints about some projects in the past, we can make some educated guesses.
Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, has suggested the next phase of movies will include the X-Men. Because of this, many believe the upcoming film directed by Jake Schreier will be the start of that new storyline.
Ryan Coogler is also developing a third Black Panther movie, currently planned for release in 2028. Even if that film fills one of the available slots, we’ll still have one remaining space.
Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is reportedly developing a follow-up to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but there’s no confirmed release date yet.
The Armor Wars project, first announced in 2020, hasn’t been moving forward as planned. It was initially intended as a series, then changed to a film in 2022, but as of February 2025, development appears to have stopped.
Besides that, the only other project with confirmed details is the new Blade movie, which has Eric Pearson writing the script as of 2024. Although it was temporarily taken off the release schedule, it’s still reportedly being worked on and might fill one of the available slots.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
