In the last 24 hours, the XRP Ledger performed a very brisk bit of financial folk dancing, burning 59,364,323 RLUSD from the RLUSD treasury. It’s not every day you see a precise number vanish into the ether with the grace of a magician who has memorized every puff of smoke.

There’s a certain month-end ritual in the crypto world-like a gastrointestinal tract that knows the calendar better than your calendar does. Activity surges as the month closes, and RLUSD is no exception. In the last 24 hours, burn and mint activity has fluttered around a frankly astonishing 118 million RLUSD.

This activity unfolded on the XRP Ledger: 59,364,323 RLUSD was burned at the RLUSD Treasury after its earlier mint. The other two transactions are 59,364,323 RLUSD minted at RLUSD Treasury and 10,000,022 RLUSD minted at RLUSD Treasury. It’s a neat little game of “which way will the tokens go?”-and the ledger is playing along with gusto.

RLUSD month-end activity ramps up

Vet, an XRP validator with a name that sounds like a sturdy hiking boot, highlights a trend of rising RLUSD activity as the month edges toward its finale. In a tweet, Vet noted that the RLUSD mint/burn pattern is holding up, suggesting the pattern might unleash another wave of issuer activity as the month wraps. He even hints that April’s surge could be saved for a grand finale at the XRP Las Vegas event scheduled for April 30 to May 1, 2026.

Recent days have seen a flurry of RLUSD mint and burn events. On April 25, a total of 25 million RLUSD were minted on the Ethereum blockchain in two transactions, 13 and 12 million RLUSD each.

The same trend appeared on April 24 when millions of RLUSD were minted on the Ethereum blockchain. Ripple Stablecoin Tracker reported four transactions: 13,975,000 RLUSD, 12,750,000 RLUSD, 14,000,000 RLUSD and 15,000,000 RLUSD were minted at RLUSD Treasury.

On April 23, 25,000,000 RLUSD were minted at the RLUSD Treasury on the Ethereum blockchain; 12,000,000 RLUSD were minted at the RLUSD Treasury on the XRP Ledger. It’s almost enough to make a statistician sigh with relief at the sheer inevitability of trends-like rain in a monsoon season you’re somehow prepared for, even if you’re not sure where the umbrella is.
