The Resident Evil series remains incredibly successful. After Resident Evil 7 and 8 revitalized the franchise following the mixed reception of Resident Evil 6, Capcom cleverly reimagined the original games with its remake series. This approach has let them streamline the story and focus on what fans really want, incorporating interesting ideas into future installments.
I’ve been really getting into Resident Evil Requiem, and it feels like the developers really leaned into what made the Resident Evil 2 remake so awesome. Plus, it definitely builds on the story and feel of Resident Evil 4, which, let’s be honest, is a fan favorite. By the time Leon’s back in Requiem, we’ve already had two games setting the stage for this version of him, so you’re already invested.
On Reddit, people are already discussing what they’d like to see in a potential Resident Evil 10, even though we haven’t even received confirmation of downloadable content for Resident Evil 9. But that isn’t stopping the community from speculating!
A recent Reddit leak (which has since been taken down) suggests Claire Redfield will appear in Resident Evil 10. This wouldn’t be unexpected, as rumors point to a remake of Code Veronica, a game where Claire is a central character. She was also a key figure in the Resident Evil 2 remake, and her established presence makes her a likely candidate for a larger role in future remakes.
Fans are excited about the possibility of Claire Redfield returning in a future numbered Resident Evil game. One fan expressed their enthusiasm, saying it would be fantastic to see her back, even though they were also hoping for Chris (who may still appear, given the codename ‘Redlife’).
Some fans are hopeful but cautious. One person said they’d be excited to see Claire return, and would also welcome Rebecca, Jill, and Chris. Another fan admitted this might not be true, but is still holding out hope that Capcom hasn’t forgotten about those characters, pointing out that while Leon and Chris have been featured recently, Jill, Claire, and Ada deserve their own focus too.
A fan is hoping Capcom will feature Ms. Redfield as the main character in both the next Resident Evil game (RE10) and a remake of the classic game, Code Veronica. They also want to see Rebecca Chambers get a well-deserved update in any remake and are eager to know when Jill Valentine will make an appearance.
Lots of rumors and leaks are circulating about the future of Resident Evil. One is a possible remake of Resident Evil Zero, featuring Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen. Another long-running rumor concerns a remake of Resident Evil 5, but it doesn’t seem to be in active development at the moment.
Rumors suggest Capcom is considering a remake of the first Resident Evil game, potentially connecting it to the story and ideas presented in Requiem without revealing future plot points. A new installment, Resident Evil 10, is also likely on the way.
Capcom is in a really strong position with the Resident Evil series. They’ve consistently released successful games, both remakes and new titles, and fans are eager to see what they do next. The upcoming release of Pragmata is just an added bonus.
