Fans of Rebecca Ferguson’s popular Apple TV series won’t have to wait much longer! Apple TV+ has just announced the show’s return date and shared a sneak peek with the first teaser trailer.
Season 3 of Silo is set to premiere on July 3rd. Apple TV+ also shared a first glimpse of the new season, which picks up over a year and a half after the Season 2 finale aired in January 2025.
What Happens in Silo Season 3?
Season 3 of Silo picks up where the story left off, following the lives of 10,000 people living in a huge underground bunker and the secrets surrounding their existence. This season also explores the history of how the silo came to be, going back hundreds of years.
As a film buff, I always love a good setup, and this voiceover really nails it. Juliette basically says that before we can even think about the meaning of things, or how the story ends, we have to go back to the beginning and understand where it all started. It’s a classic way to draw the audience in, promising a journey of discovery.
Now, Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Juliette Nichols, has survived the ordeal that left her with memory loss. As the underground silo rebuilds after a recent uprising, a new danger emerges. Simultaneously, flashbacks reveal journalist Helen Drew and Congressman Daniel Keene discovering a plot that leads to devastating and permanent repercussions.
In addition to Ferguson, the returning cast includes Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Rick Gomez, Billy Postlethwaite, and Clare Perkins.
Season 3 will feature returning cast members Steve Zahn, Ashley Zukerman, and Jessica Henwick, who first appeared at the end of Season 2. Joining them will be new cast members Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney, Matt Craven, and Colin Hanks, who will appear in multiple episodes.
Silo Will End With Season 4
The sci-fi drama, created by Graham Yost, first aired in 2023. It’s based on the Silo trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey – Wool, Shift, and Dust. Originally, a movie was planned, but after more than ten years of delays, Apple TV decided to make it into a TV series instead.
Critics are loving the show, with 90% giving it positive reviews after the first two seasons. Viewers seem to enjoy it too, but are a bit more divided, giving it an overall rating of 68%.
The popularity of Silo guaranteed a renewal even before Season 2 finished airing. Seasons 3 and 4 are currently being filmed together and will conclude the show, with a release expected next year.
Okay, so I’ve got the scoop on Silo Season 3! It kicks off on Apple TV on July 3rd, and here’s the good news: you won’t have to wait long between episodes. New ones drop every Friday, leading up to the season finale on September 4th. Get ready, it’s going to be a long summer of unraveling the mysteries of the silo!
