Public School NY’s Bespoke Boots Are Timbs at Their Toughest

Summary

  • Timberland’s “The Shed” crafted bespoke, all-black leather boots for Public School NY founders at the 2026 Met Gala.
  • The custom design features exaggerated proportions, stacked midsoles, and distinct nickel-plated copper toe guards.

Timberland’s workshop, called “The Shed,” created one-of-a-kind boots for designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School New York, who wore them to the 2026 Met Gala. Public School also dressed content creator Wisdom Kaye for the event, and both Chow and Osborne joined him on the Met Gala steps, showcasing their custom-made boots.

These leather boots from Public School NY perfectly capture the brand’s blend of street style and modern design. They’re almost entirely black, with subtle metallic accents, and crafted from high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather by Wickett & Craig. The classic 6-Inch boot has been updated with a bolder shape and a stacked leather sole featuring a durable Vibram Montagna outsole. A standout feature is the shiny, copper toe guard, which is plated with nickel.
