Princess Catherine’s holiday plans go forward following cancer treatment
As a long-time admirer of the resilience and grace displayed by Princess Catherine, I am truly moved by her latest endeavors. Her journey through adversity has been nothing short of inspiring, and her return to public life is a testament to her unwavering dedication to her duties as a royal and her passion for helping others.
2024 saw Princess Catherine making appearances at various public functions after her cancer diagnosis. Following treatment with preventative chemotherapy, she graced events such as Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, where she presented champions’ prizes, and joined Prince William in supporting Team Great Britain athletes during the Olympics and Paralympics. As Christmas draws near, it’s been announced that she will carry on a beloved tradition – organizing the royal family’s annual Christmas concert.
Plans in place for the holidays
According to Us Weekly, the meeting for the event was noted in The Times of London’s Court Circular. Specifically, on September 24, the Court Circular stated that “The Princess of Wales, Co-Patron of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, held a morning meeting at Windsor Castle.
Initially, the Princess organized the Royal Carols event, and since then, she’s been overseeing the annual Christmas Concert, alongside her family members. Notably, she performed the piano during the 2021 edition of the concert.
As stated on the Westminster Abbey website, the aim of the Christmas concert is to boost understanding about the selfless actions taken by individuals who assist children and families throughout communities across the United Kingdom. This theme reminds us of Princess Catherine’s initial outing this month, where she interacted with staff members from the Centre for Early Childhood – an organization that focuses on enhancing child development and working towards societal improvements. Her meeting with these team members occurred a week prior to her session with the Royal Foundation.
“Reflect and be grateful”
At the start of this month, Princess Catherine shared a video online about her present health status. In it, she expressed her gratitude for finishing her chemotherapy treatment on September 9th. The family has been trying to find their way through turbulent times and an uncertain path. She also revealed some valuable insights gained from this journey.
This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us take for granted…Of simply loving and being loved.
Given her viewpoint on the year, it’s likely that the upcoming concert she’ll arrange will be deeply moving.
