Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr together again on Macca’s new album

Paul McCartney is releasing a new album called The Boys of Dungeon Lane. It’s expected to be a personal record, looking back on his childhood, and he’s collaborating with friends, including Ringo Starr.

Ringo Starr played the drums for the Beatles. If you didn’t know that, no worries – everyone starts somewhere! You’re about to discover a lot of amazing music, and it’s going to be incredible.

I just read that Ringo Starr is on a new song called “Home to Us,” and it’s a pretty cool story how it came about! Apparently, it almost happened by chance. He’s playing drums and even singing back and forth with Paul McCartney, but get this – Ringo didn’t even know he was laying down the drum track at first!

Former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr recorded new song for Macca’s upcoming album

Initially, he was only meant to record vocals. While he was casually playing the drums, producer Andrew Watt and Paul McCartney decided to include those drum parts in the song. The drummer was initially annoyed with Watt, then with McCartney, but everything was smoothed over once he learned that Ringo Starr had also played on the track.

Ringo Starr initially only recorded the chorus for the song. However, after Paul McCartney explained the whole idea behind it, Ringo went back and recorded additional vocals.

He’s not the only famous artist on the song; Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders and Sharleen Spiteri of Texas also contribute backing vocals. There’s so much talent involved, it’s amazing how it all works together – that’s down to the skills of Watt and McCartney. Luckily, those two clearly know what it takes to create something truly special.

It’s not unusual to see Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney collaborate. They’ve recently shared the stage and even contributed to Dolly Parton’s album Rockstar, playing on her recording of “Let It Be.”

Paul McCartney’s latest album comes out on May 29th, and based on the first song released, it’s shaping up to be a relaxed but really enjoyable listen. It might be a good idea to pre-order The Boys of Dungeon Lane to save some money and be ready to enjoy it as soon as it’s released.
