Panerai is building on its history of creating robust, seaworthy watches with the new Submersible GMT PAM01495. This striking watch features a see-through design and is built for those who embrace an active lifestyle.
Building on its heritage as a supplier to the Italian Navy, this new Submersible watch is built for exceptional performance in all conditions. The watch features a bold 47mm case made using a modern 3D-printing technique called Titanium DMLS, which uses high-quality titanium powder to create unique internal spaces. This innovative construction makes the case about 25% lighter than typical titanium and 50% lighter than steel, while also providing excellent protection against corrosion – a key requirement for professional divers.
The Submersible GMT is built for serious underwater performance, with water resistance up to 50 ATM – a remarkable achievement considering its open-work movement. Panerai’s in-house testing lab puts it through a comprehensive, multi-step process, simulating years of wear to guarantee its reliability. For clear visibility underwater, the hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova, creating a bright blue glow that’s perfect for quickly checking dive times.
Okay, so under the hood of this watch – the PAM01495 – is a seriously cool movement called the P.4001/S. It’s automatic, meaning it winds itself, and it’s completely skeletonized – you can see all 341 parts working! The design of the movement itself is based on those net patterns you see on military ships, which is a really neat touch. But it’s not just about looks. They’ve packed in some clever tech, like a date window that practically disappears until the date is about to change, and a GMT function with a bright orange hand so you can easily track a second time zone. It’s a really well-engineered piece.
Okay, so as a watch (and gaming!) enthusiast, here’s how I see it: this watch has a really cool ‘seconds reset’ feature – basically, you can pull the crown and the seconds hand snaps back to zero, perfect for timing stuff. Plus, it’s built to last! It uses a unique tungsten rotor that’s super reliable, and the power reserve is a solid three days. You can even check how much power it has left through a cool little indicator on the see-through back of the watch – it’s made of sapphire, so it’s really tough and clear.
The PAM01495 is only sold at Panerai stores and costs $50,300. It comes with a blue rubber strap and is presented in a special blue cherry wood box.
