Blizzard has unveiled a sneak peek at a fresh new skin for Overwatch 2’s renowned sniper, Widowmaker. Here’s what we currently understand regarding the Widowmaker Sylvanas skin in Overwatch 2!

On August 20th, Blizzard shared a sneak peek for the Widowmaker Sylvanas skin. Furthermore, Blizzard has announced that they are collaborating on Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft, with this crossover event set to take place during Season 12.

Overwatch 2 Horde and Alliance skins

Get ready to choose between serving the Horde or joining forces with the Alliance, as we mark 20 years of World of Warcraft with an exciting collaboration between Overwatch and Warcraft, arriving during Season 12. This announcement may also suggest that Alliance-themed skins could be on their way in Overwatch 2. The reveal also unveiled Widowmaker’s transformation into Sylvanas, a character who was once the leader of the Horde.

In this picture, it’s clear that the character is situated within the Blizzard World map from Overwatch 2. Instead of using Sylvanas’ arrows, she’s equipped with a personalized sniping weapon, similar to Widowmaker’s rifle.

More Overwatch 2 World of Warcraft skins

It’s possible that Widowmaker Sylvanas could be paired with a hero or weapon skin themed after the Lich King, as hinted at in the Overwatch 2 Season 12 launch trailer where a mysterious figure is wielding the Frostmourne sword from the World of Warcraft lore. Notably, Sylvanas has a past connection with Arthas who, in World of Warcraft, eventually transformed into the Lich King.

Previously, Blizzard has also delved into a cross-over between Overwatch and World of Warcraft, as they introduced Illidan Genji and Tyrande Symmetra during BlizzCon events in the past.
