Great news for fans of Death in Paradise! The show has been renewed for two more seasons, and we can also look forward to two more Christmas specials.

The popular mystery series, which the BBC says is one of the most-watched shows in the UK, has just finished its fifteenth season.

Fans can expect more episodes soon, as filming is scheduled to begin this week in Guadeloupe. The network promises a new and exciting installment set on the beautiful island of Saint Marie.

The show will bring back several familiar faces alongside Don Gilet as DI Mervin Wilson, including Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose, Catherine Garton as Sergeant Mattie Fletcher, and Élizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey.

Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, expressed her pride in Death in Paradise, calling it a hugely successful show that continues to thrive on the BBC.

We’re thrilled to announce we’ll be back in Saint Marie for two more series and some festive Christmas episodes!

Tim Key, the show’s executive producer, said they are very proud of the series and the people who create it, and thrilled that viewers still enjoy it so much. They were especially pleased with the positive reaction to the most recent season and are eager to begin working on the next one.

He hinted that they have a really exciting event planned for the beginning of season 16, and the Christmas special will lead into it with a major surprise.

Filming has started on the third season of Return to Paradise, the Australian spin-off series. This season promises to be both compelling and entertaining, with six episodes planned for release later this year.
