Number Rock is changing the game for anime merchandise with its detailed collaboration featuring Yu Yu Hakusho. With vintage designs from the 80s and 90s being popular in today’s streetwear, Number Rock is tapping into that trend to create high-quality items that celebrate this classic anime series.
Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho is a classic anime from the 90s, first shown from 1992 to 1995, and it had a huge impact on pop culture around the world. Original merchandise from the show is now highly sought after by collectors and streetwear enthusiasts. Number Rock’s new collection doesn’t just put old artwork on new clothes; it carefully recreates the quality and style of the original era, aiming for a ‘next vintage’ feel.
The highlight of this collection is a special T-shirt featuring the main characters – Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, and Kurama. The design is made using a detailed 15-color silk-screen process with a unique technique that leaves parts of the design unprinted, letting the black cotton of the shirt create the shading. The shirt itself is made to feel like a classic vintage tee from the 80s and 90s, with details like single-stitch seams on the sleeves and bottom.
The collection is completed with classic t-shirts made in the US, showcasing popular designs like the Toguro Brothers. It also includes practical everyday accessories, such as a black denim tote bag that will develop a unique worn look with use, and a vintage-style enamel mug.
Fans can enter a lottery for the limited-edition Yu Yu Hakusho x Number Rock T-shirt from April 27th to May 6th. Regular clothing and accessories from the collaboration will be available for pre-order on the brand’s website from April 27th to May 16th.
