A brand new game based in the intense world of the original series has been revealed. It will feature beloved characters and offer a unique, replayable experience with fast-paced action, similar to the show.
As a huge fan of The Walking Dead, I’m so excited to hear that Ares Interactive and AMC Global Media are teaming up to release a brand new game! It’s called The Walking Dead: Aftermath, and what’s really cool is it’s the first free-to-play roguelite game based on the show. It’s being developed by the team behind Heroes vs Hordes – Swift Games – and it’s coming to both the App Store and Google Play this summer. They’ll be announcing the exact release date soon, so keep an eye out!
Play as Popular Walking Dead Characters
Players will control iconic characters like Daryl Dixon and Michonne in this game, battling endless waves of walkers, dangerous foes, and challenging bosses. It combines fast-paced action with base-building and upgrades. To survive, players must constantly adapt their tactics while scavenging for resources and fighting off every threat they encounter.
In The Walking Dead: Aftermath, players embark on missions through iconic locations like Hershel’s farm, Woodbury, and Alexandria. You’ll collect resources and improve your team of survivors, all while tackling increasingly difficult challenges as the story progresses. The game aims to recreate the intense, realistic action and focus on survival that made the original TV show so beloved.
There’s a Heavy Focus on Replayability
Ares Interactive is dedicated to creating high-quality, engaging games that players will enjoy for a long time. Their new game, The Walking Dead: Aftermath, blends the action-packed gameplay and replayability of Swift Games with the thrilling survival story of The Walking Dead. According to Ares Interactive President Mike DeLaet, AMC’s confidence in their team highlights the company’s growing strength, and this collaboration is a key milestone in their mission to build lasting interactive experiences and player communities.
Clayton Neuman, VP of Games & Franchise at AMC, shared that The Walking Dead still resonates with fans by combining intense survival stories with exciting action. He highlighted that their partners at Ares Interactive have created a game that truly captures the spirit of the series and the enjoyment of fighting off hordes of walkers. Neuman believes The Walking Dead: Aftermath is a game that’s both easy to learn and incredibly addictive, and he’s eager for players to experience it.
We’ll be sharing more about the game soon, including details on characters, how it plays, and when you can sign up to play. To stay informed and get the latest news, please join the game’s official community.
