Myleene Klass surprised people on Thursday when she brought her new cat to work at Classic FM.
The stylish presenter brought their white cat, affectionately called Shimi McLovin, to the studio in Leicester Square, carrying it in a special, well-ventilated carrier. This appearance came shortly after they first showed Shimi to their fans online.
As the weather warmed up in London, Myleene Klass, 48, looked ready for spring in a floral playsuit and leopard print sandals. She smiled and waved to people as she walked across a well-known central London landmark.
On Monday, a presenter who volunteers with Wood Green Pets Charity shared photos of her foster cat online. She was raising money for the charity by partnering with Sketchers footwear.
Myleene has worked with Save The Children on many occasions, and has even visited the Philippines to see the difficult challenges faced by young mothers there.
This year, the presenter expressed her gratitude to fans after receiving an honor in the New Year Honours list. She was recognized for her work raising awareness of women’s health and miscarriage, as well as her charitable contributions.
She shared a video from Thailand, explaining it was quite late there due to the seven-hour time difference. She jokingly mentioned she was still wearing her interview shirt but paired it with beach shorts after spending the day at the beach with her family.
I’m interviewing people in the UK right now because I have some very important and exciting news to share with you.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list! I’m now officially Myleene Klass MBE.
‘I’m going to put it on stationary. I wonder if I can get it on my passport.
I received the MBE for my work supporting those affected by miscarriage and for my advocacy efforts, particularly with the charity Tommy’s. I’ve been working to raise awareness of women’s fertility issues in Parliament and to ensure the best possible outcomes for mothers and babies. This is a cause I’m deeply committed to, and I won’t be stopping my work anytime soon.
Honestly, this experience has solidified my commitment to using my voice for good. I’m more driven than ever to advocate for the support that mothers and babies need and deserve – it’s something I truly believe in, and I’m going to keep pushing for real change.
To everyone who has supported me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ll keep pushing for the changes we need. And to the little ones who came before us, please know that I’ll continue to fight for your voices to be heard until we meet again.
‘So thank you for all your love, all your support from Myleene Klass MBE and Happy New Year.’
Myleene, a mother of three, recently shared how proud she is of her progress and how she overcame a difficult period in her life.
Honestly, listening to her talk to the BBC just broke my heart. She explained how it all began, and it wasn’t some grand plan, you know? It actually came from a really tough, dark time in her life. She definitely wasn’t thinking about becoming this incredible activist back then – it just… happened. It’s so inspiring to hear how far she’s come!
Losing a baby is a deeply personal and incredibly painful experience, and it’s often very hard to talk about.
Myleene has been a strong voice for improving the Women’s Health Strategy, pushing for women to receive support much earlier – before they’ve experienced three miscarriages – instead of waiting until then.
She’s dedicated her work to making miscarriage care better and helping people understand the deep emotional pain of losing a baby.
The musician has used her influence to advocate for changes in government policy and has been instrumental in bringing attention to the importance of addressing baby loss as a serious health concern.
Just as someone wouldn’t receive help only after their third heart attack, parents shouldn’t receive support only after experiencing multiple baby losses. Support should be available after the first loss, not just after repeated ones.
People have greatly admired the former Hear’Say singer’s work because it’s helped many women feel less alone after a miscarriage and has given them hope and encouragement.
