MGM+’s From Season 4 Returns To Record Audience Rotten Tomatoes Score

After its season 4 debut, the MGM+ series From achieved a record-high audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

This scary series follows a group of people stuck in a town overrun by flesh-eating monsters each night, and they constantly face new dangers. The season 3 finale ended with a shocking cliffhanger: a mysterious figure known as the Man in Yellow (Douglas E. Hughes) brutally killed Jim Matthews (Eion Bailey). Even though his daughter, Julie Matthews (Hannah Cheramy), traveled back in time, she couldn’t save her father’s life.

The fourth season of From is here and has started strong with an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Although this number may change as more episodes come out, it’s the highest score the show has ever received. For comparison, previous seasons earned scores of 87% (season 1), 80% (season 2), and 73% (season 3). You can find a complete breakdown of all season and overall scores below.

From Season Tomatometer Score Popcornmeter Score
Season 1 96% 87%
Season 2 93% 80%
Season 3 100% 73%
Season 4 100% 88%
Overall 97% 82%

Season 4’s 88% audience score breaks the pattern of each From season receiving lower ratings than the last. This is encouraging news, especially since season 5 will be the show’s final season. With the series nearing its end and building towards a conclusion, audience reception is now likely to improve rather than decline.

Season 4 of the show is getting positive reactions on Rotten Tomatoes, with many viewers impressed by a fast-paced and engaging premiere. Julia Doyle’s new character, Sophia, is also being highlighted, and the surprising details revealed about her at the end of the first episode have generated excitement. However, some viewers have expressed disappointment that certain plotlines remain unresolved and that a few characters haven’t become more appealing.

Critics overwhelmingly praise the latest season of From, giving it a perfect 100% score on the Tomatometer for the second season running. Jordan Williams of ScreenRant awarded the season nine out of ten stars, stating that the MGM+ series has reached a new high point, with stronger scares, more compelling characters, and satisfying resolutions to long-standing mysteries.

Season 4’s main cast features Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau), Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno), Ethan Matthews (Simon Webster), Jade Herrera (David Alpay), Donna Raines (Elizabeth Saunders), Ellis Stevens (Corteon Moore), Fatima Hassan (Pegah Ghafoori), Victor Kavanaugh (Scott McCord), Henry Kavanaugh (Robert Joy), Sara Myers (Avery Konrad), Kristi Miller (Chloe Van Landschot), Marielle Sinclair (Kaelen Ohm), Officer Acosta (Samantha Brown), Elgin Williams (Nathan D. Simmons), Randall Kirkland (A.J. Simmons), and Bakta (Angela Moore), alongside Cheramy as Julie and Doyle as Sophia.

The character known as The Man in Yellow will return even after his death, with glimpses of Jim appearing in season 4, episode 1 and in promotional trailers. Jamie McGuire reprises his role as the monster Smiley, who was resurrected at the end of season 3. The series was created by John Griffin, with Jeff Pinker as showrunner and Jack Bender directing several episodes.

From season 4 releases new episodes on MGM+ on Sundays.
