Matthew McConaughey brought all three of his kids to a high-profile event last week, which is something he doesn’t usually do.
Matthew McConaughey, the 56-year-old Academy Award winner, brought his wife, Camila Alves, and their children to the 2026 Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala held at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas.
All of their children are now teenagers: they have Levi, 17, Vida, 16, and Livingston, 13.
Matthew McConaughey shared on Instagram his gratitude to Jelly Roll for performing at the 14th annual MJ&M Gala. He said Jelly Roll’s amazing energy filled the room and motivated everyone there.
Your incredible performance helps us gain support and funding, allowing us to continue helping children thrive. Events like tonight show us the powerful difference music, community spirit, and kindness can make.
Alves shared that Matthew McConaughey’s foundation has been positively impacting kids’ lives for 14 years! The recent event was a fun-filled 2.5 days with music, fashion, golf, and other activities, all to support important charities. More details and photos are coming soon.
Brazilian model and designer Alves turned heads in a sleek black dress. She completed her look with black heels and gold jewelry.
The actor wore a dark suit with a white shirt and no tie.
McConaughey and Alves were married on June 9, 2012.
The couple married in a private Catholic ceremony at their home in Austin, Texas, following their engagement on Christmas Day in 2011.
In a 2024 interview with Southern Living, the Texas native and his wife discussed their marriage and family, including their 2014 move from Malibu, California to Austin, Texas.
Alves shared that they were happily living in Malibu. They had built a beautiful home together, pouring a lot of love and effort into it.
‘We were raising our kids there. I was growing everything in the yard. I had bees making honey.’
Alves explained that a family emergency brought them to Austin to support McConaughey’s mother, Kay, and his brothers. While there, she observed that he seemed much happier and more relaxed being back in his home state of Texas compared to when he was in California.
Alves described the actor, known from True Detective, as looking calm, self-assured, and full of energy while they drove. She playfully asked if he wanted to relocate there, and he simply replied, “Yes.”
Alves feels at home in Texas because the culture there reminds her of her upbringing in Brazil.
Alves explained that he and his family were taught to always say “Yes, ma’am” and “Yes, sir” – a habit that strongly reminds him of his upbringing.
The actor, known from Dazed and Confused, shared what made returning home ten years ago so memorable.
He explained that they rediscovered the importance of routines and traditions – things like going to church on Sundays, participating in sports, or having family dinners. These often led to late-night gatherings where they’d share stories over drinks and snacks, always finding new ways to tell old favorites.
