After the positive reception of the recent mini-series, Boomer was asked if a full sequel series might be possible. He explained that a lot would need to fall into place for that to happen, and jokingly added that if it took another 17 years, it might be one of his children who takes on the project, as he might not be around at that time.
According to Boomer, reviving Malcolm in the Middle depends on hitting a specific, unknown metric. He explained that there’s a particular number that needs to be reached – if the data falls even slightly short, they won’t consider a revival, but if it exceeds that number, they’ll start exploring the possibility.
