Madonna released her first song from her Confessions II album on Friday
The 67-year-old singer released a lively new song called ‘I Feel So Free,’ produced by Stuart Price, and it sparked mixed reactions from her fans.
People on X had mixed reactions to her new dance song, with some calling it energetic and memorable, while others felt it was a bit forced.
One Reddit user expressed their excitement, saying the song sounds amazing – sensual, mysterious, and perfect for dancing. They added that it really captures the essence of classic Madonna and has renewed their anticipation for the album.
Someone else wasn’t so sure, saying, ‘I definitely think she’s wearing grills, but they actually make her seem more fragile. It comes across like she’s a bit tipsy at a club.’
The song’s lyrics feel distinctly like they’re from the 1990s. The singer playfully invites someone to dance, singing things like, ‘Come on, meet me on the dance floor,’ and ‘Come here, baby – I can give you much more tonight. Let’s do it right.’
She opens up, admitting she struggles to trust others. She wonders if anyone can blame her, explaining she feels safer with a group. Being alone feels risky and unpleasant, but she finds freedom and liberation when she’s dancing.
On Friday, manager Guy Oseary suggested that Madonna will perform at Coachella in the evening, debuting a new song with Sabrina Carpenter, who is also performing at the festival.
He shared on Instagram that 20 years ago, Madonna headlined Coachella 2006, which was a big deal because major pop stars hadn’t performed there before – it was mostly known for alternative artists. He explained that he had the idea to bring her in and even suggested she play the Sahara Dance Tent instead of the main stage. He said he pitched the idea to Paul Tollett, Coachella’s founder, who agreed, and the rest, as they say, is history – or rather, herstory!
He ended with, ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor -2006 Confessions On A Dance Floor PART II -2026.’
Madonna was seen in new images from her Confessions II album on Wednesday morning.
The performer from Michigan struck a pose, legs apart, wearing a bright turquoise leotard and silver jacket. Another photo showed her with a veil draped over her head, modeling a lace leotard, fishnet stockings, and high heels.
The singer revealed that her highly anticipated album, Confessions II, will be released on July 3rd through Warner Records.
The new album is the continuation of the iconic counterpart Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Ahead of the lead single, Madonna unveiled the first hint of her tunes with a visual teaser.
Madonna described her latest album by referencing the opening lines of her song, ‘One Step Away.’ She explained that people often underestimate dance music, but it’s actually very meaningful. She sees the dance floor not just as a location, but as a special, almost sacred space where people express themselves through movement instead of words.
Madonna explained that the initial vision she and Stuart Price had when they began working on the album was a guiding principle for the entire project.
She then shared the manifesto: ‘We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies.
For millennia, humans have engaged in activities that are deeply spiritual, and dancing is no exception. The dance floor itself can be seen as a sacred space – a place for connection and shared experience.
She then mentioned a ‘trance like state.’
Fans can now pre-order the album in a variety of formats, including vinyl, CDs, and cassettes.
Okay, so the buzz is that Madonna is hoping to collaborate with Britney Spears on her upcoming album! Apparently, she reached out to Britney directly, and everyone’s crossing their fingers that we’ll get to see these two icons team up. It would be huge – a real comeback moment for both of them, and honestly, a dream for pop music fans like me!
She reportedly contacted Britney Spears, 44, in December and January, hoping they could collaborate on a songwriting project and record together in a studio.
If it happens, it will be 23 years after the pop stars famously kissed during a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, following the success of their song, ‘Me Against The Music’.
According to reports, Madonna is hoping Britney Spears will collaborate on her upcoming album, but Spears hasn’t responded to the offer yet.
According to a source, Madonna thinks Britney Spears is not only a talented performer, but also a genuinely kind person.
‘They had a great time in the past working together and had touched on working together again.’
Madonna’s new album will be her first since 2019’s Madame X.
She sparked excitement among her fans earlier this year when she announced on Instagram that she was working on a new project.
In a February message, she told her fans that her Valentine’s Day gift to them was news about her new music, which she’s working on with a lot of passion and is excited to release.
She playfully referenced a potential sequel to her album ‘Confessions,’ jokingly warning people not to tell Usher, and shared pictures from a recent studio session soundtracked by her song ‘Future Lovers’.
