Love Island's Anton Danyluk reveals he turned to drugs and alcohol after his failed Dubai business lost £100K

As a lifestyle expert who has seen my fair share of highs and lows, I can empathize with Anton Danyluk’s harrowing tale of struggle and resilience. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who was once at the pinnacle of success, grapple with despair and darkness.

Anton Danyluk disclosed that he resorted to substance abuse and excessive drinking following the collapse of his Dubai business, which led to a loss of approximately £100K.

Previously on Love Island, the star confessed that he intentionally ingested an excessive amount of drugs during his struggle with business issues, hoping it would lead to a state from which he wouldn’t awaken.

This week, the renowned celebrity from Scotland expressed that his life has improved significantly, yet confessed he experienced his most challenging phase following his relocation from Dubai to Marbella, Spain in May of the previous year.

Anton candidly shared on social media about the £100K loss from his gym-nightclub venture in Dubai, expressing to his audience, “Even with a million followers, I’ve never felt more isolated.

Following my time dedicated to bodybuilding, I found myself uncertain about my direction. My online coaching business was thriving, but it didn’t fill me with the same sense of fulfillment. Regardless of what I attempted, I couldn’t seem to find happiness.

Anton, initially seen on season five of Love Island in 2019 but recently reappearing for the All Stars version of the popular ITV2 dating program, confessed that he and his mother, Sherie-Ann, had a falling out during this period.

He expressed that at age 24, he believed he had achieved the pinnacle of his accomplishments, but soon after, things began to fall apart. To make matters worse, he lost touch with his family, leaving him without any close companions.

‘I thought that moving country would be the answer so I moved from Dubai to Marbella.’

Anton asserted that he no longer recognized the person he had become, as he immersed himself in partying, lost concentration, and began abusing alcohol and drugs.

He went on to say: “I did something incredibly foolish because I immersed myself in a social gathering. I began drinking alcohol and using drugs. In retrospect, it seems like I was simply attempting to mute my real-life experiences.

It’s puzzling how the same person who achieved great success before entering Love Island could end up looking like someone who was consuming drugs and alcohol. Once a fitness enthusiast, I barely recognized myself during that time.

Among all the videos I shared, this one was the scariest for me to publish. At that time in my life, I honestly believed there was no reason to go on living, I had lost sight of myself and every day seemed devoid of purpose.

One evening in Marbella, I intentionally consumed a large amount of drugs, expecting not to survive the night. However, I miraculously woke up the following day, and the immediate thought in my mind was, “Why on earth am I still alive?

As I pen these words, I find myself becoming quite emotional. This phase in my life was incredibly challenging, one that I won’t soon forget. Despite my usual sunny disposition and minimal inclination towards alcohol consumption, I must confess that this period tested the limits of both.

Anton, who expresses his desire for his followers to understand the full spectrum of his life, from the favorable to the challenging, also stated: “For anyone reading this who’s grappling with difficult times and feels trapped without a clear path forward, let me assure you there is a way out. Although it may not be apparent now, know that life holds more than what appears before you at this moment.

‘This part of my life was the most challenging but it’s made me so much stronger in every way.’

The television personality expressed his desire to assist individuals grappling with mental health challenges, moving forward.

He added: ‘What I realised from that experience is you can’t run away from yourself. Moving country, taking substances, it isn’t going to fix things. You can only fix yourself.’
