Loose Women announces special mental health project
As a seasoned gamer and mental health advocate, I can’t help but applaud the bold move by “Loose Women” to embark on this 25-hour Talkathon for mental health awareness. Having battled my own demons and finding solace in the camaraderie of fellow gamers, I understand the power of open conversations and shared experiences.
Loose Women has announced a special mental health project.
To mark its 25-year milestone, the program is planning to broadcast live on Thursday, December 5th for a continuous 25-hour chat marathon as part of ITV’s Britain Speaks Up initiative.
The show kicks off on ITV1 at 12:30 PM, and you can catch it on-demand on ITVX all day long.
Since its debut in 2019, the Britain Get Talking campaign, aimed at fostering open discussions about mental health, has sparked more than 200 million chats among people.
The show “Loose Women” plans to build upon the initiative’s pioneering efforts by addressing stigmas related to mental health, while also raising essential resources for organizations such as Mind, YoungMinds, and Scottish Action for Mental Health.
Today on her program (November 25), Charlene White clarified the Talkathon as a platform for inspiring individuals to engage in meaningful discussions surrounding topics that hold significant importance to them.
Coleen Nolan remarked that she believes there will be touching instances within it, providing inspiration, facilitating conversations about personal struggles.
In the same vein, I believe the next 25 hours will also be a blast! Post 9 PM, it’s a whole new ball game, wow!
Prior to the upcoming significant occasion, the editor of Loose Women, Sally Shelford, emphasized the significance of supporting mental health charities and hinted at the presence of some distinguished visitors.
In her statement, she mentioned that about half of UK adults experience an improvement in their mood from conversing or being with loved ones, yet the data indicates that a considerable number of people continue to struggle when it comes to expressing their difficulties.
On our talk show, we often emphasize that the audience is an integral part of us, like the fifth Loose Woman. Our goal is to strive as hard as we can to bring attention to the matters that have the greatest impact on them.
During the Talkathon, it would be great if they could join us, not just as listeners but also companions for the full 25 hours. They can show their support for our charities by making a pledge and engaging in meaningful discussions with us about mental health as we continue these important conversations.
Shelford stated that not only will there be surprise visitors, but also the regular humor and familiar themes of “Loose Women” are promised for viewers to enjoy!
Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
