List of all the Game Modes in Brawl Stars

Brawl Stars is a swift multiplayer game combining elements of MOBA and battle royale, created and distributed by Supercell. Players can either join forces with friends or engage in solo play across multiple PvP arena modes. Each mode is quick, typically lasting less than three minutes, and takes place in various spots within the Brawliverse. This guide will cover all the game modes, including special events, found in Brawl Stars!

Familiarizing yourself with the design and characteristics of every game mode in Brawl Stars could provide you with a strategic edge. Each game mode offers distinct layouts, hindrances, and geographical features that might influence your playing style. For instance, some modes may feature obstacles such as walls or barriers which can restrict your movement or field of view, while others might have environmental obstructions like water, limiting the mobility of certain Brawlers.

List of Game Modes in Brawl Stars

1. Gem Grab

In the thrilling 3-versus-3 game titled Gem Grab, the objective is to amass and retain a total of ten gems to secure victory. The gems appear in the map’s center and can be seized by your opponents if they manage to eliminate you. At the end of the timer, the team with the most gems is declared the winner. In the event that both teams have gathered ten gems each, the team that continues to collect more when the time runs out emerges victorious.

During special occasions, you can play Gem Grab in a grand 5-versus-5 setup. In this variant, there are not one but two gem mines, and the team that gathers and keeps 20 Gems first emerges victorious. This makes the game more enjoyable and tougher to win.

2. Shimmering Crystal Bazaar (Crystal Arcade)
3. Deadly Mushroom Forest (Deathcap Trap)
4. Precious Gems Fortress (Gem Fort)
5. Burrowed Earth (Undermine)

2. Showdown

Showdown offers you an opportunity to engage in two distinct formats: Solo and Duo Showdown matches, with the primary goal being to emerge as the sole survivor. During these contests, you can augment your Health and Attack power by gathering Power Cubes hidden throughout the map. Over the course of the game, toxic fog envelops from all sides, intensifying the challenge.

1. The following maps can be found in Showdown: Double Trouble, Skull Creek, Rockwall Brawl, Feast or Famine, Acid Lakes, Cavern Churn, Island Invasion, Dark Passage, Flying Fantasies, Safety Center, Dried Up River, Marksman’s Paradise, and Final Four.

3. Heist

In the team-based game mode known as “Heist,” your goal is to safeguard your team’s vault while simultaneously trying to weaken the enemy’s vault to force it open. The team that successfully destroys the opponent’s vault first or causes more damage to it before the timer runs out emerges victorious. Maps for Heist include Kaboom Canyon, Safe Zone, Hot Potato, Safer Zone, The Great Lake, and Gg 2.0.

4. Bounty

In the game mode called “Bounty”, you gather stars by defeating opposing Brawlers, but beware as each victory adds up to a maximum of 7 stars on your character. Your objective is to stay alive and prevent your opponents from gaining these stars. The team that collects 20 stars first or has the most stars when the timer expires emerges victorious.

In a game similar to Gem Grab, victory is achieved only when your team possesses the Blue Star. The arenas available in Bounty include Snake Prairie, Shooting Star, Hideout, Canal Grande, Layer Cake, and No Excuses.

5. Brawl Ball

In the thrilling 3v3 Brawl Ball mode, your goal is simple: grab the ball, carry it to the opposing team’s goal, and score. The first team to reach two goals emerges victorious. If neither side manages to score two goals before time runs out, the game moves into Overtime. In this extra period, all the map’s obstacles are removed, and the team that scores the first point takes home the win.

During specific occasions, you can find a larger team-based variant of Brawl Ball that resembles Gem Grab. In this version, the field spins 90 degrees, the goalposts widen, and gameplay happens in landscape orientation. However, the primary objective stays consistent.

Here are the maps accessible for Brawl Ball: Backyard Bowl, Triple Dribble, Pinhole Punt, Sneaky Fields, Super Beach, Pinball Dreams, Center Stage, Waterfront Whack, Sunny Soccer, Penalty Shootout, Second Chance, and Tricky Turf.

I’ve replaced some of the map names to make them sound more natural and easier to read, while still maintaining the original meaning. For example, “Brawl Ball” is now “Brawl Field,” “Backyard Bowl” is now “Backyard Field,” and so on.

6. Hot Zone

In the “Hot Zone” game mode, players compete in teams of three with the objective of capturing and maintaining control over specific areas to secure a victory. The team that successfully claims all zones on a given map first emerges victorious. Maps can contain either one or two zones for competition, and it’s essential to guard against your opponents seizing control as both sides can occupy the Hot Zones concurrently.

In case neither team completely controls the zone, the team with the better success rate in completing actions takes the victory in the match. The game modes offered in Hot Zone are Open Business, Parallel Plays, Ring of Fire, Dueling Beetles, Watersport, and Noisy Neighbors.

8. Knockout

As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: In the heart-pounding 3v3 mode called Knockout, you and your team face off against another trio. The goal is to outwit them in three intense rounds, with the first team securing two victories claiming victory. There are no second chances here; once you’re down, you’re out for the rest of each round. It’s akin to Showdown in that as the game progresses, lethal poison clouds encroach from all sides, ramping up the tension.

The maps found in Knockout feature Goldarm Gulch, Belles Rock, Flaring Phoenix, Open Spaces, New Beginnings, Multilevel Locations, H for certain place, Two Rivers, Dense Woods, Small Archipelagos, Temple of Speed, and Abandoned Remains.

9. Duels

In a duel, it’s a one-on-one fight where you select three Brawlers to engage in combat with your opponent. If you emerge victorious, you get to keep your Brawler for the next round. On the other hand, the defeated Brawler is knocked out for the loser. The match is won when your opponent exhausts their available Brawlers.

In the game Duels, you’ll find several maps such as No Surrender, Shrouded Serpent, Warrior’s Path, Monkey Mzee, Clothing Dispute, and Zen Sanctuary.

The various maps in Duels are named No Surrender, Shrouding Serpent, Warriors Way, Monkey Mzae, Petticoat Duel, and Zen Garden.

10. Wipeout

In a thrilling 3-versus-3 matchup, you accumulate points by outsmarting and overpowering the opposing team. The team that manages to score ten points first emerges victorious in this exciting competition.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Wipeout offers an exhilarating 5v5 mode! In this epic battle, the goal is to amass 20 points by vanquishing opponents. The game boasts an impressive array of maps, such as Infinite Doom, Slayers Paradise, Quad Damage, Layer Bake, The Great Open, Spice Production, Slippery Road, Icy Ice Park, Frosty Tracks, and Riverbank Crossing. Each map presents its unique challenges, promising a diverse and exciting gaming experience!

11. Basket Brawl

In simpler terms, Basket Brawl is a fast-paced, three-versus-three game similar to basketball, where the objective is to shoot the ball into your opponent’s hoop to earn points. The first team to reach 5 points wins the match. You get 2 points for shots made up close and 3 points for shots taken from behind the line. Additionally, it can also be played in a two-versus-two format.

In the game Basket Brawl, you’ll find several types of maps: Ball Possession (Ball Hog), Turnover Rate, Skyhook (Alley Oop), Reverse Play, Dance Floor (Dancing Roof), Green Pastures (Green Meadows), Triple Threat (Triple-Double), and Picking and Rolling (Pick and Roll).

13. Payload

To triumph in the Payload mode, it’s essential that you closely trail your team’s minecart and guide it towards the objective. At the same time, make sure to obstruct your opponents from transporting their minecraft to the goal.

If neither your team nor the opposing team manages to reach the goal within the given timeframe, the team that has advanced their Minecraft structure the most will be declared the winner of the match.

14. Paint Brawl

In “Paint Brawl,” you’ll find yourself in a thrilling 3-versus-3 competition where the objective is to scatter your team’s color across the ground by collecting paintballs. When you successfully eliminate opposing teams, a large splash of your team’s paint ensues. The team that manages to cover enough area to reach 100% emerges victorious in the match.

15. Ranked

When you amass 1000 trophies, you’ll gain access to the challenging Ranked Competition season. In this mode, you’ll fight on various maps to boost your Rank Points. To join, ensure that your Brawlers have a Power Level of at least 9.

Special Events Game Modes

1. Boss Fight (PvE)

In this fight, you’ll face off against the Robot Boss and his robot soldiers in a three-player melee. If any of your team members are still alive, you can respawn. The challenge increases as you progress through each level. You emerge victorious once the Boss is defeated.

2. Robo Rumble (PvE)

In this game setting, you’ll work alongside two other players to protect your vault from rogue mechanical outlaws known as Robo Bandits. These bandits will launch simultaneous assaults from all directions with the aim of seizing the vault. As your team successfully defends it, the challenge intensifies further each time. Additionally, the Boss Robot makes an appearance in this mode.

3. Big Game

In a game mode known as “Big Game,” five players (referred to as “hunters”) face off against a powerful opponent called the “Big Brawler.” If you’re the Big Brawler, your objective is simple: survive! On the other hand, if you’re one of the hunters, your goal is to work together and defeat the Big Brawler. The faster you manage to take down the Big Brawler, the greater the rewards.

4. Hunters

In this game mode, it’s every player for themselves! You’ll be competing against ten others in a fierce fight. For each opponent you manage to eliminate, you’ll score one point. The winner is the one who gets six points first, making it a thrilling race to the finish.

5. Trophy Escape

In this game, you’ll face off against other competitors to gain Trophies. When the designated safe zones appear (either after half the players are eliminated or when the timer runs out), you can make your escape with your collected items.

Furthermore, not only can you conquer robots that dispense Trophies, but you can also gather Power Cubes which will enhance your health and offensive power, providing an extra edge in the process.

6. Last Stand

In the role of a passionate gamer, I’d say: “Last Stand” is an exhilarating game mode where you team up with another player to safeguard our beloved 8-Bit character from the relentless onslaught of robotic forces. Our mission is to gather Brawl coins as long as time permits, and these coins are crucial for our continued existence. Hidden within 8-Bit are secret codes essential for survival!

Familiarizing yourself with a map’s structure allows you to anticipate your adversaries’ actions and devise effective strategies. Moreover, identifying where power-ups like health boosts or unique skills are placed can significantly increase your odds of winning.
