Lily Allen is slammed by fans who brand her an 'awful person' after she admitted she got rid of her dog when it ate her family's passports

As a longtime fan of The Smile hitmaker and following her life closely, I must say this latest revelation about her dog-eating passports incident and her family dynamics is quite intriguing. It seems that she has had quite an eventful four to five months! The dog’s mischief not only cost her precious travel documents but also highlighted the complexity of her family life, with a name change being a contentious issue.

Fans have criticized Lily Allen following her revelation that she rehomed her dog after it accidentally destroyed their passports and visas.

In her “Miss Me?” podcast, the 39-year-old singer openly admitted that owning the dog had turned her life upside down. She found it expensive to replace important documents, which in turn kept her daughters from seeing their father for extended periods.

After Lily made her remarks, numerous fans didn’t hesitate to express their opinions about X, strongly criticizing the celebrity for returning the dog to its original home.

The post suggests that she did not admit fault for misplacing the passports where a puppy could reach them. Instead, she chose to give away the dog. This behavior is quite callous, as implied by the statement.

I can’t help but shake my head at such blatant negligence. As someone who has owned pets for most of my life, I know all too well how easily they can get into things they shouldn’t. It’s inexcusable for anyone to leave important documents out where animals can reach them. This kind of irresponsibility is a clear sign that the person in question is not just careless, but truly unwise. They may think they are clever or efficient for going paperless, but their lack of foresight and consideration for potential consequences has left them vulnerable and exposed. It’s a lesson they should have learned long ago, and one I hope others can learn from as well.

It’s puzzling how Lily Allen believed this action would make her seem more relatable rather than terrible. I understand that admitting mistakes can be difficult, but forgetting passports within a puppy’s reach is clearly her responsibility. The poor dog and her children are at risk due to this oversight.

‘Dogs like the ones you mentioned, @lilyallen, aren’t inherently misbehaving – it’s their owners who are at fault. The chaos in your life isn’t due to a dog causing havoc, but rather a lack of personal responsibility in taking care of your possessions.’

I’m sorry, but it seems she forgot to keep the passports and visas somewhere secure, such as a safe, so that the dog wouldn’t be able to access them.

Previously, Lily admitted that she and her daughters welcomed a new pet dog into their family in 2021. However, she later expressed regret as the dog ended up causing chaos by consuming their passports and visas, significantly impacting their lives.

The artist who sang “Not Fair” also mentioned that the process of getting new documents was an incredibly complicated and frustrating ordeal.

Additionally, she shared that her former spouse, Sam Cooper, refused to allow her to adopt her current husband, David Harbour’s last name on their replacement passports – an issue that sparked some tension with the Stranger Things star.

Even after the harrowing experience with our last furry companion, I can’t help but feel the pull again. Allen here, and despite the lessons learned from Allen, my heart is already yearning for a new four-legged friend. My daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, and I have come to an agreement; we will name this future pup Jude Bellingham, in honor of our shared passion for soccer.

As a devoted resident of New York alongside my partner David and our kids, I didn’t explicitly mention which furry friend I was discussing, but it can be reasonably assumed that it was Mary – the adorable pup we welcomed into our family last year through Animal Haven, a compassionate animal welfare organization based here in the city.

I’ve shared the exciting news that we welcomed a new canine family member into our home. However, an unexpected incident occurred when she mistook my passport for a treat, causing me to reluctantly return her to the shelter.

‘She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in.

Furthermore, I’m unable to disclose the exact amount I spent on replacements due to the unprecedented logistical challenges posed by the pandemic at that time. It was a complete logistical nightmare, as you can imagine.

Since my children’s father resides in England, it wasn’t possible for me to return with them to visit him for approximately four to five months, as our troublesome pet had damaged their passports.

‘And I just couldn’t look at her. I was like “you’ve ruined my life”.’

The songwriter continued, “She wasn’t just a troublemaker with passports; she was a poorly behaved dog overall. I genuinely put in effort with her, but things didn’t go as planned. And, to use an expression, the issue of passports was the final straw that ultimately ended our situation.”

On her “Miss Me?” podcast, when inquired about adopting her husband’s last name, Harbour, after getting married two years prior, following a divorce from builder Cooper, two years back, she stated: “No, and it’s actually a contentious issue for me.”

After being married to him, I retained his last name due to having two kids together. It can be challenging for us when traveling if we don’t share the same family name.

As a lifestyle expert, I found myself advocating for a unique twist on our children’s names – Harbour. However, my former spouse seemed less enthusiastic about this idea. In the end, I chose to preserve our family’s legacy by keeping his surname, even though I had hoped for something different.

David and I share a joint bank account, which makes it bothersome when he has to deal with my American Express card that bears the name of my ex-husband. I’m guessing it’s not pleasant for him.

Allen said the new puppy the family have set their hearts on is a chihuahua mix.

I shared with my trusted confidant, Steve Jones, that there’s a possibility we might be welcoming a new puppy into our home within the coming two weeks.

‘Me and the girls have been thinking about a name and we settled on Jude Bellingham.’

After David disclosed the quirk that drove his wife, Lily, up the wall, as well as his decision to propose marriage by their third outing together, this event occurred.

In a recent statement, the actor portraying Jim Hopper from the popular Netflix show Stranger Things described the singer as having an unusual charm that compelled him to remain in her presence even when he had other tasks to attend to. However, this peculiar attraction did not seem to prompt any conversation between them.

David mentioned that she often does this: “She’s usually down in the kitchen, either cooking or busy with something else. While I’m going about my day, doing different tasks, she’ll call me into the kitchen.”

‘And it’ll be for some reason like “David, David, do we have any cheese?”

I might say something like, “I’m headed to the kitchen,” and when I find the cheese, I’ll exclaim, “Look, there’s cheese here!” Then, she might ask, “Where are you off to?”

‘And I’m like “Babe, I’m just going to live my life”.

She gives me a disapproving look as if I were about to leave for the day, causing me to stay seated at the kitchen table. However, she seems uninterested in conversation or interaction.

‘She just wants me to be there as a presence.’

When questioned by Miquita Oliver, Lily’s friend, about his thoughts on why his wife might have done what she did, Harbour explained to the Miss Me? podcast that “I have a clear understanding of the reasons, but they delve into very psychological matters.”

Later, he explained, “This situation calls for discretion, as my wife prefers not to disclose too much,” and further clarified, “She enjoys the companionship of having others around her in a room.”

She appears to highly prize it, yet she seems reluctant to engage directly. However, it’s clear that she does value it deeply.
