- KONAMI’s latest title KICK BUDS opens playtest which is live until March 25, 2026.
- The playtest is available on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam in select regions.
KONAMI has announced a new football game, and it’s not related to eFootball. They’ve started a quiet playtest for KICK BUDS, a fun, party-style football game, letting players in certain areas try it out early.
The game is currently in playtest until March 25, 2026, and is available on Android, iOS, and PC through Steam. However, it’s only accessible in Brazil, Mexico, the U.S.A., Germany, France, Italy, Türkiye, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan.
KICK BUDS brings a party royale-style football with a chaotic gameplay feel
KICK BUDS isn’t your typical football game – that much is clear. It’s not about realism; instead, it’s a fast-paced, chaotic, and arcade-like experience where games feel more like frantic battles than actual matches.
It’s not just about scoring – you’re also avoiding challenges, using unusual game features, and trying to be the last player standing. I initially mistook it for a party royale game, but it’s actually quite enjoyable on its own.
If you’re familiar with previous versions of eFootball, you might recall the 3v3 game mode called Strike Arena, which offered a more relaxed and imaginative take on football. KICK BUDS takes that same concept and expands on it significantly, offering a completely new experience.
Forget strategy and realistic characters! This game is all about colorful visuals, wacky characters, and wild, chaotic fun. It’s less about planning and more about quick reflexes, good timing, and reacting to the craziness happening on screen.
As I said before, the KICK BUDS playtest isn’t available in all countries just yet. If it’s available in your region, you can download it from the Google Play Store for Android or Apple TestFlight for iOS. Check the official website for more details.
