Katy Perry enjoys date night with Justin Trudeau at star-packed Netflix event as she risks awkward run-in with ex Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry arrived at a glamorous party with her current partner, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, and ran into her former boyfriend, Orlando Bloom.

The pop star, age 41, was recently seen at the Beef season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event, alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Oh my gosh, did you SEE the pictures of Maisa and Justin?! They looked SO cozy with Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole! It was like a perfect little double date night snapshot, and honestly, they just seemed genuinely happy and adorable together. I’m totally obsessed with how cute they are!

Okay, so Orlando Bloom – yes, the Orlando, Perry’s ex – was there too, and I totally spotted him getting a picture with Ted Sarandos and Nicole Avant, who threw the most amazing party at their house. But honestly? He was all alone, which… I noticed. Just saying! It felt a little sad, seeing him standing by himself when everyone else was coupled up. I have screenshots, obviously.

Besides members of the British Royal Family, the event in Santa Barbara County, California also included actors Charles Melton, from the show Riverdale, and Carey Mulligan, both of whom appear in the second season of the Netflix hit Beef.

Perry and Bloom were together for nine years, including six years as an engaged couple, but they broke up last year.

Katy began a relationship with Trudeau, with rumors surfacing in July 2025. Meanwhile, Orlando is said to be dating 28-year-old bikini model Luisa Laemmel, though the relationship is being kept low-profile.

Over the weekend, Perry and Trudeau attended the popular Coachella music festival in Indio, California.

The singer joined other celebrities at the desert music festival to watch Justin Bieber perform, and she shared a sweet post showing how happy she is with her boyfriend.

Katy posted photos and videos from her weekend, showing her having drinks with Canada’s former Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.

Oh my gosh, she posted the cutest video of Justin wrapping his arms around her while they were singing along to one of his songs! And then, a picture of them holding hands as they walked through the festival?! I seriously can’t even breathe right now. It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of!

Katy and Justin kept the Coachella fun going late into the night, with Katy dancing at a nightclub and the pair later enjoying a bowl of noodles.

I was so excited to see what my favorite star wore, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! She rocked this super cool crop top with the funniest message – it basically said, ‘Seriously, please don’t let me try your vape, even if I ask!’ It was such a bold and relatable statement, I loved it!

The recent outings come as Trudeau’s son heaped praise on his father’s highly-public romance.

Xav, an 18-year-old musician, shared that Katy is eager to support his career and he often asks her for feedback on his music.

He shared on the Can’t Be Censored podcast that he often plays songs for a particular person when he’s pleased with them. She consistently offers helpful feedback and suggestions for improvement.

He described her as really kind, genuine, and wonderful. He also mentioned that his dad seems pleased with her, which is what matters most to him.

Xav explained he’s become accustomed to the noise surrounding his father’s relationship with a celebrity, something he’s been dealing with since childhood due to his father’s public life.

He explained that seeing the photo of them together felt no different than seeing any picture of his parents, or even just a picture of his father.

Honestly, I follow everything about him, and it’s amazing to see how accomplished his wife, Sophie, is! She’s not just a supportive partner, she’s a public speaker, a published author and she dedicates so much of her time to mental health advocacy. It’s truly inspiring, and I admire her so much!

Xav admitted things get hectic sometimes, and he often finds himself questioning everything. He says he just tries to find humor in it, realizing it’s simply his life and accepting that there are limits to what he can control or change.

Xav, who has faced criticism for his music releases, says he’s learned to ignore negativity and comments on social media.

He said: ‘I’ve been told my whole life, “Don’t read comments”.

Even though he tries his best, he acknowledged that negative comments sometimes affect him, explaining, ‘The hateful things people say really get to me sometimes.’

Honestly, it’s just…wired into me now. Every notification – a comment, a share, even a simple like – it’s like a little boost, you know? It genuinely helps. I can’t explain it, it just does. It’s amazing!
