Jonathan Gaming leaves GodLike Esports to start his own gaming organization, Team Apex Gaming

Story Highlights

  • Jonathan Gaming is India’s one of the most popular BGMI Esports athletes and Content Creators.
  • Big gaming YouTuber such as Shreeman Legend has joined Team Apex Gaming as content creator.
  • Apex Gaming is all set make their official debut in the upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) 2026.

The story started when Jonathan Amaral, a hugely popular BGMI esports player and content creator, sent a message to his fans ending with a black heart emoji. Rumors were already circulating that he would be leaving Team GodLike Esports to start his own organization, and those rumors turned out to be true.

The Indian gaming world is buzzing with the news that Jonathan Gaming has launched his own Esports team, called Team Apex Gaming. This new competitive team will mainly focus on the popular mobile game, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). In this article, we’ll take a closer look at Jonathan Gaming’s new venture and who might be joining the team.

The formation of the new Organization

“TAGonTop” is the current buzzword in the Indian gaming scene. Jonathan is a well-known player who has competed with some of the top teams in PUBG Mobile and BGMI esports.

He began his esports career with Skull Esports, then went on to play for teams like Orb, Entity Gaming, and TSM-Entity, most recently joining GodLike Esports. Throughout his time with these organizations, he’s consistently been a key player thanks to his exceptional skills. He secured two official tournament wins while playing for Entity Gaming and TSM-Entity.

Jonathan hasn’t always had an easy path to victory. Despite the arrival of BGMI, he still hasn’t won a major championship. He showed great promise with GodLike Esports, finishing on the podium twice and earning a Most Valuable Player award, leading many to believe his first big win was just around the corner.

After a difficult start to BGIS 2026 and a disappointing semi-final, many fans predicted he would be removed from the lineup in the second qualification phase – and that’s exactly what happened.

There were rumors of a disagreement between the player and team management after he was benched during a crucial part of the BGIS semi-finals, potentially leading to him leaving the team. However, we didn’t believe those rumors completely, considering he was also a co-owner of GodLike.

Despite all the pre-event drama, he had a strong performance in the final, finishing on a high note. Afterwards, he playfully hinted at a new project with a black heart emoji on social media. Then, on April 12th, he officially revealed his new venture: Team Apex Gaming, confirming all the speculation.

What lies ahead for Team Apex Gaming and Jonathan

TAG has quickly become a major player, announcing two huge additions within its first week. Popular gaming YouTubers Shreeman Legend and SSR Vlogs have joined as both content creators and co-founders. TAG is rapidly developing its content and plans to announce more new members in the coming weeks.

We’ve learned from reliable sources that Team Apex Gaming is planning to sign the current BGMI roster from Infinix True Rippers Esports. It appears they’ve triggered a substantial buyout clause – reportedly in the seven-figure range – to acquire the entire team!

The team includes Jelly, KioLMAO, Harsh, and Hydro. Jonathan is also joining as a new member and will continue competing in Esports.
