Joe Jonas, 34, reveals his 'least favorite hairdo' from his days as a teen pop star almost 20 years ago

As a seasoned journalist with years of experience under my belt, I’ve covered countless stories of celebrities and their personal lives. But none have tugged at my heartstrings quite like Sophie’s tale. Here was a woman, a mother of two young girls, who found herself in the midst of a highly publicized split from her husband, Joe, while she was still contracted to finish filming for a project in the US.

Joe Jonas shares which hairstyle he disliked the most from his time as a member of the boy band with his brothers Nick and Kevin.

I, a dedicated fan, can’t help but recount my awe-struck experience as I witnessed the meteoric rise of the charismatic 34-year-old to unimaginable fame. This transformation occurred during my adolescent years, as part of the dynamic trio, the Jonas Brothers, alongside Kevin and Nick.

Throughout his professional journey, he’s tried many diverse hairstyles. Yet, one in particular sticks out to him as regrettable.

In the past, I found myself feeling compelled to straighten my hair daily using a flat iron.

When Hannas asked him why he’d chosen that look without any pressure, he replied casually, “I’m just a teenager in the pop music scene.”

The Jonas Brothers formed in 2005.

Joe made a light-hearted comment, saying that achieving his perfectly styled hair required a whole team, and teasingly added that his brother Kevin was more skilled at it than him.

Currently, Kevin is hitched to Danielle Deleasa, originally from New Jersey and formerly a hairdresser, who later became part of the show business clan upon marriage.

Joe gave a new interview not long after putting out his first solo song in more than 10 years, called “Work It Out.”

As a devoted fan, I can tell you that the new track from his second album, titled “Music for People Who Believe in Love,” seems deeply influenced by the recent conclusion of his four-year union with Sophie Turner.

I’ve always found the opening lines of this song to be quite impactful and uplifting. The singer seems to be addressing someone named Joe directly, encouraging him to shift his focus from sadness and appreciate the good things in life. It’s a gentle reminder that our negativity can sometimes make those around us uncomfortable and that we have so much more to be grateful for. This message resonates with me deeply because I’ve been there before – feeling stuck in my sadness, unaware of how my mood was affecting others. Hearing these words can help jolt us out of our funk and inspire us to find joy in the present moment. It’s a powerful way to start a song and sets the tone for an uplifting listening experience.

At times, I can relate to the pop star’s feelings of misery and the desire for invisibility. As a 34-year-old, I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs in life. There have been moments when the weight of the world seemed too heavy on my shoulders, and all I wanted was to disappear from the scene. It’s a human emotion that we all experience at some point or another. The pop star’s words resonate with me as they highlight the universality of feeling helpless and wanting to escape from reality. However, it’s important to remember that these feelings are temporary, and with time and support, we can overcome them.

I can relate when an artist confesses to seeing things in reverse or grappling with uneasy thoughts in their lyrics. It’s a feeling I understand all too well.

I used to think I was above going to therapy, that my anxieties weren’t a big deal and that I could handle them on my own. But as I look back at my life now, I can see how wrong I was. The insecurities and fears that kept me up at night when I was younger are still with me, and they’ve only grown more complex and intricate over time.

In the chorus, he repeats the thought that no one will come to your rescue and no one will extract you from your current situation.

I remember earlier this week, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation as I scrolled through my Instagram feed. One particular post stood out to me – it was from my favorite artist, sharing the news that he would be releasing his new solo album soon. Hearing this, I couldn’t help but feel thrilled for him, knowing all the hard work and dedication that went into creating something new and unique. As a fan, it’s always an exciting moment when an artist shares their latest project with the world, and I could only imagine the pride and joy my idol must have felt in that moment.

In a recent press statement, an artist expressed that this new album represents an expression of appreciation, optimism, and affection. The lyrics in these tracks offer insights into his personal experiences, viewed from an elevated perspective, highlighting the numerous blessings that surround him.

I can’t help but believe that pausing to appreciate the good things in life is essential for finding inner peace. When we take a deep breath and focus on the positive, I truly hope that acceptance follows suit, leading us to a more serene existence in the here and now.

Jonas continued by explaining that “it’s normal and important to cry and grieve over a loss” since “doing so allows us to heal and ultimately be more present for those dear to us.”

The two-time Grammy nominee shared with fans that his new work was motivated by his role as a father, self-friend, and joyful livelihood, inspiring him.

“I’m deeply grateful for the chance to explore the world and build connections with people through my music. Plus, I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with remarkable musicians, composers, and producers on this project,” the father of two expressed enthusiastically.

During filming, Jonas received a personal note from a director, scribbled on a piece of paper and held above the camera, inquiring, “What emotions do you aim to evoke?”

He shared that this question continues to touch him deeply whenever he performs on stage or produces fresh music. The power to engage audiences profoundly and elicit positive feelings, or even promote healing, is a precious talent he values highly.

Ultimately, he aimed to make the album ‘reflection and celebration of life.’

‘I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it,’ he concluded.

Music for People Who Believe in Love, which comes out October 18, marks his second solo album.

In the year 2011, he introduced his initial album, titled “Fastlife.” Together with his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas, they have put out a total of six albums since the year 2006.

Jonas was also the former frontman of the rock band, DNCE.

In a recent episode of the Therapuss With Jake Shane podcast, Jonas hinted that his new record includes the most intimate songs he has ever revealed to the public.

This music encompasses a range of themes. There are heartfelt ballads, songs that speak to the experience of being a dad, love songs, and motivational tracks.)

As a die-hard fan, I can tell you from my own experience following in the footsteps of a Disney Channel alum: there are times when you need to give yourself a good shake and take charge of your situation, because no one else will do it for you.

Jonas expressed that he wouldn’t be rescued by anyone, having gone through a divorce from Turner ten months prior and a break-up with model Stormi Bree only five months into their relationship.

In June, Jonas’s former spouse shared in a heartfelt Vogue interview the pain she experienced during their divorce.

In September 2023, the shocking news spread that Game of Thrones actor, aged 28, and the singer from the Jonas Brothers, 34, had decided to end their marriage.

She shared with Vogue in a recent interview, “Those few days were absolutely the most difficult I’ve ever experienced. At times, I questioned if I would even survive.”

“I found myself in a difficult situation and felt overwhelmed. I decided to reach out to my lawyer for advice, confessing that I wasn’t sure I had the strength to handle it on my own.”

After two weeksof feeling stuck, she gently reminded me that the reason for my struggle was my love for my children.

Whenever someone encourages me with the words, “Do it for your children,” I am motivated to do it. I may not be inclined to do it for myself, but I will muster up the needed energy for their sake.

During that period, Sophie was based in the UK shooting the TV series Joan. Meanwhile, Joe and their young daughters Willa, aged three, and Delphine, two, stayed in the US.

As an obsessed fan: I was unfortunately tied up on set for another two weeks, preventing me from making it to my children who were in the States. The need to complete my role as Joan left me with no other option but to finish it before I could be reunited with my family. Meanwhile, articles about me kept popping up everywhere, but I couldn’t let distractions disrupt my focus on the project.

Following the announcement online, whispers spread that Sophie and Joe had broken up due to Sophie’s excessive partying – a claim that gained strength when images surfaced of her having a rowdy night out with her colleagues right before Joe filed for separation.

Sophie shared, “I was deeply pained because I put excessive pressure on myself for every parenting decision I make – the reality of mother’s guilt is profound.”

“I had to remind myself repeatedly, ‘This isn’t real. I’m a good mother and I don’t have a party-loving past.'”

It’s astonishing how many people create and share false information based on an image.

Looking at the photo brought back memories, yet it wasn’t my narrative. It seemed as if I were an outsider observing a film of my life that neither I had scripted nor directed. The experience left me in a state of surprise and disbelief, still trying to come to terms with the unexpected turn of events.

I began dating Joe in the year 2016. After an amazing year, he asked for my hand in marriage in 2017. In a spontaneous moment, we decided to elope in Las Vegas during the year 2019. Later that summer, we celebrated our union with a grand wedding ceremony in France.

Sophie recalled struggling with being branded as a Jonas Brothers’ wife following their marriage.

“The spotlight frequently shined on the three brothers and their spouses. I disliked being consistently referred to as ‘the wives,’ however,” she confessed.

I had a sense of being an extra, not because of him or anything he did, but rather due to how we were viewed by others – like groupies accompanying a famous band.

After relocating from Los Angeles to Miami in 2021, things took a turn for the worse according to Sophie. She described feeling like a bird confined in a beautifully adorned yet limiting cage. This sense of confinement was particularly distressing as she found herself completely cut off from her cherished friends.

In a community populated by many fifty-year-old men, making new friendships during our daily dog walks proved to be quite a challenge for us.

At last, Sophie expressed her gratitude to her dear friends, among them being renowned pop artist Taylor Swift, for supporting her during the difficult period following her publicly announced breakup with Joe.

During that challenging period, the women in my life provided me with the most incredible strength and security. Their unwavering support left me feeling safe and cherished.

I’ve had the immense luck of crossing paths with a remarkable woman named Taylor this year. Her kindness and generosity towards me and my children have left me in awe. We found ourselves in a difficult situation, struggling to find a safe and stable home. But Taylor stepped in and opened her doors to us, offering us more than just shelter – she provided us with a sense of security and belonging.

In October, Joe and Sophie established a short-term child custody agreement following her legal action against him for attempting to obstruct her from traveling with their kids to the UK for a supposedly planned journey.

Each parent was given the opportunity to spend two weeks with their daughters in turn up until January 2024, and these girls were permitted to make trips between the US and the UK.
