Action star Jason Statham returns to the big screen this summer in his latest movie. Before the trailer drops, the first official poster for the thrilling new film has been unveiled.
The action movie Mutiny is coming soon, and the first trailer will be released on Thursday, April 9th. A newly released poster offers a glimpse of Jason Statham hanging onto a boat while holding a gun. The film’s tagline, “There’s blood in the water,” suggests a typically intense and action-packed experience for fans of Statham’s work. You can see the poster below.
Jason Statham Makes a Splash in Mutiny
In Mutiny, Jason Statham plays Cole Reed, a tough ex-Special Forces operative and former NYPD officer now working as a security professional. When he’s falsely accused of murder, Cole sets out to clear his name and find the true killer, ultimately discovering a huge criminal plot that reaches across borders.
Jean-François Richet, the director of Plane, helms Mutiny, a film written by Lindsay Michel and J. P. Davis. Jason Statham leads the cast, joined by Annabelle Wallis (known for Peaky Blinders and X-Men: First Class), Jason Wong (Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Wrath of Man), Pilou Asbæk (Citadel, Riders of Justice), Arnas Fedaravicius (The Last Kingdom, The White Lotus), and Adrian Lester (Euphoria, The Sandman).
Gerard Butler and Mike Colter headlined the 2023 action thriller Plane, which was both critically acclaimed and a box office hit. The director previously remade John Carpenter’s 1976 film Assault on Precinct 13 in 2005 and has also directed One Wild Moment, Blood Father, and The Emperor of Paris.
Jason Statham Is Back in Action This Summer
Jason Statham recently starred in the action thriller Shelter, which came out in late January and generally pleased his fans. He’s been busy with other action movies too, including The Beekeeper, A Working Man, Expend4bles, Meg 2: The Trench, and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. Plus, he reprised his role as Deckard Shaw in the blockbuster sequel Fast X.
Jason Statham has several more action films on the way. He’s confirmed to return for a sequel to The Beekeeper, slated for release in 2027. He’s also working with Guy Ritchie on Viva La Madness, an upcoming action thriller featuring Vinnie Jones and Jason Isaacs. Statham is also producing that film with Ritchie.
Mutiny will be released in movie theaters on Aug. 21, 2026.
