Jakiro continues to dominate Dota 2 Patch 7.38b after recent nerfs
Since the update in Dota 2 version 7.38, Jakiro’s impact has significantly increased, and despite recent adjustments or nerfs, the Two-Headed Dragon continues to thrive.
Upon the unveiling of Patch 7.38 for Dota 2, a number of heroes started gaining popularity. The Dragon Knight garnered much conversation in the Wandering Waters. However, lurking in the shadows, another dragon was steadily ascending. Jakiro, also known as the Twin-Headed Dragon, has been seeing increased playtime.
Jakiro, breaking the ice since Patch 7.38
After undergoing a significant overhaul in Patch 7.38, Jakiro witnessed a total revamp of his two Facets. The elimination of Liquid Fire and Liquid Frost ushered in a new era for the Twin-Headed Dragon. Two fresh Facets emerged, yet it appears only one is making waves in the cold front.
Ever since the latest patch, I’ve noticed a significant surge in Jakiro’s popularity and effectiveness. His pick rate and win rate are skyrocketing, making him a highly sought-after hero in both casual and competitive play. It seems like everyone wants the Ice Breaker on their team! This trend isn’t just limited to ranked matches; it’s also causing a stir in the professional scene.
During the thrilling DreamLeague Season 25, I found myself drawn to Jakiro as the most frequently chosen hero. Remarkably, he managed a consistent 50% win rate throughout the tournament. But it was none other than Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov who truly stole the show with this hero. In game 5 of the grand finals, he outperformed Tundra Esports’ farming strategy, leaving them in his dust!
The ice takes the full impact of the nerf hammer
Without a doubt, just a day after patch 7.38b dropped, it felt like Valve had taken a hefty swing at Jakiro with their nerf hammer, particularly focusing on his Ice Breaker Facet.
It appears that the changes haven’t significantly hindered Jakiro’s control over the game. Despite a noticeable decrease in pick and win frequencies for Jakiro, choosing him still offers a relatively uncomplicated advantage.
Apart from being the most commonly chosen hero in the ongoing PGL Wallachia Season 3, Jakiro has an impressive 44 pick count during the Group Stage and boasts a nearly 58% win rate. Players seem to favor starting games with the Twin-Headed Dragon, and as we move into the Playoffs’ final four days, it seems Jakiro will continue his dominance in the game.
Even though Jakiro isn’t traditionally labeled as a carry, his abilities empower the heroes he supports to initiate battles effectively. The recent adjustment of Ice Breaker has significantly altered Jakiro’s performance, potentially leading to another round of balancing changes in the near future. Nevertheless, prior to any potential adjustments, Jakiro continues to be a potent support character and an excellent choice for your team in every game.
