The new season of House of the Dragon will premiere on June 22nd in the UK, and a new trailer has just been released to announce the date. This eight-episode season is a prequel to Game of Thrones.
The latest trailer for the series based on George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood’ shows the continuing conflict between the Targaryen and Hightower families, building towards the intense ‘Dance of the Dragons’ battle. The trailer suggests a time of great violence and devastation, as Rhaenyra (played by Emma D’arcy) fights to take back the Iron Throne. The preview begins with Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) telling his queen she now has unprecedented power, and foreshadows difficult times ahead.
I’m so excited to see the cast return for the new season! Along with D’Arcy and Smith, we’ll be getting more from Olivia Cooke, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Phia Saban, Fabien Frankel, Bethany Antonia, and Phoebe Campbell. I can’t wait!

Okay, so I just saw the trailer for the new season, and James Norton – you might know him from Happy Valley and House of Guinness – is joining the cast! He’s playing Lord Ormund Hightower, and it looks like he’s right in the thick of things as a major player in the war to come. Pretty hyped to see what he brings to the show!
Season three will feature a talented cast including Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Jefferson Hall, Tom Cullen, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, Abubakar Salim, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.
Following the positive launch of the Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, House of the Dragon is gearing up for its third season. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall (known as ‘Dunk’) and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire, Egg. The series is set on the Game of Thrones timeline, falling between the events of the original show and House of the Dragon.

Since it premiered in January, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has received very positive reviews, earning a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes. We especially liked the strong connection between the two main actors and its action scenes, which we described as both intense and captivating.
