The actress from Home and Away, aged 47, is well-known for her energetic lifestyle, but she revealed that she needed to modify her workout routine due to a painful injury she experienced.
In an episode of Tiffiny Hall’s Bounce Forward podcast, Ada openly shared that a sneeze resulted in a herniated disc in her back.
Reminding us of an unforeseen event, Ada shared her experience of intense pain she endured when she hurt her back from a sudden sneeze as she prepared to head to the gym about a year back.
She shared with Tiffiny that around a year and a half back, she suffered an injury due to an unexpected sneeze.
As a long-time fitness enthusiast who wakes up at the crack of dawn to hit the gym, I can attest that my routine was suddenly disrupted one fateful morning when I found myself in excruciating pain. It all started as an ordinary day; I woke up at 5am, geared up and headed to the gym, only to find myself in my dressing room getting ready for a workout, when suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my lower back that made me double over. Little did I know that I had just perforated a disc. The pain was so intense that it took me aback and made me realize how fragile our bodies can be. It has been weeks since that day, and I’m still recovering, but the experience has taught me to never take my health for granted and to always listen to my body when something feels off.
After having surgery due to an injury, Ada sustained permanent damage to a nerve which results in her foot being constantly numb. As a consequence, she is unable to engage in running activities anymore.
In my fervent passion for health, I underwent a surgical procedure, but now, one side of my foot remains sensationless – a persistent reminder of the ordeal. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that this condition may not fully recover, and I suspect I’ve inadvertently harmed a nerve during the process.
After experiencing this, I found myself questioning many of my actions, particularly since I’ve always taken care of my physical fitness and enjoy working out. However, it has become clearer to me that exercising also benefits my mental well-being.
Instead of her prior strenuous workout routine consisting of boxing, cycling (spinning), and weight training, Ada currently focuses on reformer Pilates as her primary type of physical activity.
As a devoted adherent, I used to whirl and jab, the typical routine, but then I delved into intense weightlifting too. Now, it seems I’ve sworn off deadlifts forever.
‘I can’t run because I will break my ankle because I have a numb foot.’
In another development, Ada has been romantically linked with her Home and Away castmate James Stewart, following reports that they were spotted kissing on Anzac Day.
They’ve been acquainted since 1998, when they acted together in the brief run of the Channel Ten soap opera Breakers. Since 2016, they’ve both been regulars on Home and Away.

Reports suggest that they will officially debut their romantic relationship on the red carpet at the 2024 Logie Awards, scheduled for August 18.
