HoK hero adjustments September: Arli buffs, Allain nerfs, and more

As a long-time player of this game, I must admit that these recent hero adjustments have certainly shaken things up! The nerf to Luban No.7 and Allain has definitely made encounters with them more manageable, but it’s always bittersweet when our favorite heroes get toned down a notch.

The recent HoK adjustments targeted eight heroes in the first half of September.

On September 5th, Honor of Kings (HoK) made changes to eight heroes needing balance adjustments, with three marksmen – Arli, Huang Zhong, and Erin – receiving status boosts, while Luban No.7 underwent a slight decrease in status as part of these updates.

In the pro scene, fan-favorites Allain and Lady Zhen experienced significant game balance adjustments, or “nerfs.” Meanwhile, characters less favored by players, such as Liu Bei and Yang Jian, were given enhancements, known as “buffs,” to make them more attractive choices.

Liu Bei (buffed)

Increased Ultimate’s attack and shield.

Ultimate: Hearts and Minds

Shield:

• Before: 1,000 (+500 per skill level)

• Now: 1,000 (+500 per skill level) (+18% extra Health)

Attack Boost:

• Before: 70 (+35 per skill level)

• Now: 100 (+50 per skill level)

Arli (buffed)

Reduced cooldown for Skill 1.

Skill 1: Lithe Step

Cooldown:

• Before: 8s (-0.5s per skill level)

• Now: 7.5s (-0.4s per skill level)

Huang Zhong (buffed)

Increased base Movement Speed.

• Now: 365

Erin (buffed)

Improved base stats.

• Now: 370

Base Health:

• Before: 3,142 (+190.1 per hero level)

• Now: 3,245 (+194 per hero level)

Base Physical Attack:

• Before: 164 (+10.9 per hero level)

• Now: 166 (+11.7 per hero level)

Yang Jian (buffed)

Reduced cooldown for Skill 1 and Ultimate, and increased Ultimate’s healing.

Skill 1: Unleash the Hound

Cooldown:

• Before: 6s

• Now: 6s (-0.2s per skill level)

Ultimate: Sight of Origin

Cooldown:

• Before: 28s (-6s per skill level)

• Now: 22s (-3s per skill level)

Beam Hit Health Recovery:

• Before: 220 (+110 per skill level) (+5% extra Health)

• Now: 220 (+110 per skill level) (+50% extra Physical Attack) (+5% extra Health)

Lady Zhen (nerfed)

During the early and mid stages of the game, less damage will be dealt in the late game and the sluggishness effect of the Ultimate skill will be decreased.

Passive: Frozen Touch

Base Damage:

• Before: 250–500 (+38% Magical Attack)

• Now: 250–500 (+30% Magical Attack)

Skill 1: Ocean of Tears

Base Damage:

• Before: 500 (+100 per skill level) (+80% Magical Attack)

• Now: 500 (+100 per skill level) (+70% Magical Attack)

Effect Adjustments:

• Icicle block radius reduced

Skill 2: Flowing Sigh

Base Damage:

• Before: 250 (+50 per skill level) (+35% Magical Attack)

• Now: 250 (+50 per skill level) (+30% Magical Attack)

Cooldown:

• Before: 8s (-0.3s per skill level)

• Now: 8s (-0.2s per skill level)

Ultimate: Destructive Deluge

Movement Speed Reduction:

• Before: 50% slow for 2s

• Now: 25% slow (+12.5% per skill level) for 1.5s

Luban No.7 (nerfed)

Decreased passive damage.

Passive: Suppressive Fire

Damage to Heroes:

• Before: Physical damage equal to 60–120 (+4.5% of target’s max Health, +1% per 100 extra Physical Attack).

• Now: Physical damage equal to 50–100 (+4% of target’s max Health, +1% per 100 extra Physical Attack).

Allain (nerfed)

Increased Basic Attack interval and reduced Ultimate’s shield effect.

Basic Attack

Attack Interval:

• Before: 0.6s

• Now: 0.7s

Skill 1: Meteor Kill

Playability Improvements:

• Improved Skill 1’s shake effect and upward slash action compatibility.

Ultimate: Death at Sunset

Base shield provided to Allain and teammates:

• Before: 540 (+270 per skill level) (+120% Physical Attack)

• Now: 450 (+225 per skill level) (+100% Physical Attack)

The game is typically adjusted to feature new heroes every fortnight, and the next adjustment is set for September 19th.
