Ghost’s Tobias Forge becomes latest victim of a disturbing trend

Tobias Forge, the creative force behind the band Ghost, is facing a troubling situation, one unfortunately common for performers. He’s had to report a woman to the police in Sweden, claiming she is stalking him, and the situation has become increasingly serious.

According to Aftonbladet, Forge has experienced stalking before, like many public figures. However, this is the first time he’s felt the need to involve the authorities. It’s not just about unwanted emails; the situation is more serious than that.

According to reports, the woman says she and the singer first met sixteen years ago and are now planning to marry. However, the singer has been married for many years and already has two children, making a recent engagement unlikely.

Ghost’s Tobias Forge forced to call police about woman claimed to be stalker

The woman accused of stalking started by sending digital messages to the victim, then began sending registered letters to his home. She also sent him a cell phone that wasn’t in its original packaging. While seemingly straightforward, this phone raises concerns – it’s unclear if it could be a dangerous explosive, or if it’s been set up to secretly record conversations in the surrounding area.

Mr. Forge says he didn’t leave his phone inside the house, but placed it outside instead. He then reported the incident to the police.

Several other musicians have also experienced problems with stalkers lately. In early 2026, a man who had previously been arrested for stalking Billie Eilish tragically died after being hit by a train.

Lindsey Buckingham, formerly of Fleetwood Mac, was the target of a stalker on April 1st. Someone threw an unidentified substance at him, which was frightening, as he didn’t know what it was. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt.

The main thing to remember, when enjoying music, is to focus on the music itself, and not necessarily the artist. They might be admirable people, but they’re still human, just like everyone else.
