Gerard Butler’s 2 Movies With $1.1 Billion+ at Box Office Are Leaving Netflix

I just learned that some of my favorite movies are leaving Netflix! Both “How to Train Your Dragon” films – the first two, anyway – are going to be removed soon. I always loved Gerard Butler’s performance as Stoick the Vast in those movies. It’s hard to believe those DreamWorks films have made so much money – around $1.1 billion total! They really are amazing and I’m sad to see them go for now.

How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 are leaving Netflix next month

Starting May 1st, the popular movies How to Train Your Dragon and How to Train Your Dragon 2 will no longer be available on Netflix, according to a report from What’s on Netflix. The films star well-known actors including Gerard Butler, Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, America Ferrera, and Jonah Hill.

The first two How to Train Your Dragon movies were big hits in theaters. The original, released in March 2010 with a budget of $165 million, earned about $217 million in the US and Canada. It made another $277 million internationally, bringing its total worldwide earnings to $494 million.

Released in June 2014, “How to Train Your Dragon 2” cost approximately $145 million to produce. It earned $177 million in the United States and $444 million internationally, bringing its total worldwide earnings to $621 million.
