Things are heating up in New York City! Photos taken near a Brooklyn courthouse show that the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again will feature a highly anticipated team-up of three heroes that fans have wanted to see for years.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 brings back Iron Fist and Luke Cage
Marvel is bringing back the heroes from The Defenders for the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again, and filming is currently underway in New York City. Fans recently spotted Luke Cage’s Mike Colter and Iron Fist’s Finn Jones filming together near a courthouse in Brooklyn. They’ve joined Krysten Ritter, who reprises her role as Jessica Jones, having already appeared in the show’s second season.
Mike Colter and Finn Jones are returning as Luke Cage and Iron Fist, joining Krysten Ritter on the set of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Fans confirmed the sighting, excitedly noting that the original Defenders team – Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist – are reuniting for the first time since their 2017 miniseries, ‘The Defenders’.
Netflix once had a shared universe of Marvel shows consisting of five series. Jessica Jones aired from 2015 to 2019, Luke Cage ran from 2016 to 2018, and Iron Fist was on air from 2017 to 2018. The heroes from these shows then teamed up for the limited series The Defenders in 2017.
On-set photos reveal Colter wearing a suit very similar to the one Luke Cage wore during his mayoral campaign in the ‘Devil’s Reign’ comic series. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) immediately noticed the resemblance between the photos and the comic book artwork.
As a huge fan of street-level heroes, I was really interested to hear what the showrunner of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ Dario Scardapane, had to say about why characters like Daredevil don’t often mix with the bigger, cosmic storylines in the MCU. He put it perfectly – they joke that those heroes are ‘uptown’ while they’re focused on the ‘downtown’ world of Hell’s Kitchen. Basically, they’re deliberately keeping things small and focused on the really detailed, personal stories happening right there, which I think is a great approach.
