Genshin Impact improves 50-50, Weapon gacha systems

Genshin Impact improves 50-50, Weapon gacha systems

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours and resources on Genshin Impact, I can’t help but feel a mix of relief and excitement at the upcoming changes to the game’s gacha system. The 50-50 has been notorious for its frustrating nature, and even the slightest tweak feels like a victory. With the introduction of Capturing Radiance, I’m looking forward to a slightly more forgiving Character Event Banner.

As a diehard fan, I couldn’t help but feel my heart racing during the recent Genshin Impact 2.0 livestream! The spotlight was on the brand-new region, Natlan, but it was the unexpected revelations that truly stole the show for players like me. HoYoverse, the masterminds behind Genshin Impact, unveiled an exciting new mechanic called Capturing Radiance, which promises to make the 50-50 odds even more enticing with the upcoming version 5.0 update. I can’t wait to see how this will enhance my adventures in Teyvat!

Goodbye to 50/50 in Genshin Impact?

Starting with Genshin Impact’s version 5.0 update, a new feature called “Radiant Capture” will be implemented. This feature will specifically impact the Character Event Banners, leaving the Standard Banner unaffected and functioning as usual.

How the old 50/50 worked

Let me quickly remind you about the functioning of the guarantee system, commonly known as “50-50”, in the game Genshin Impact. Please be aware that this rule is applicable exclusively to the limited character banners during events.

If your recently obtained 5-star was the highlighted unit, there’s a 50% probability that your next 5-star will also be the featured one. Conversely, there’s a 50% chance you’ll get a unit from the standard pool in this case, which is often referred to as “losing the coin toss” or “missing out on the 50-50.”

In case the previous top-tier unit wasn’t the highlighted one, the subsequent top-tier unit will undoubtedly become the highlighted one.

Capturing Radiance explained

In the Genshin Impact 5.0 update, the Capturing Radiance mechanism boosts the probability of obtaining the highlighted character.

HoYoverse explained that obtaining Radiance can only be a possibility if you don’t already have the assurance (as described in the first scenario previously mentioned). However, if you do possess the assurance, the existing gacha system remains unchanged.

With this innovative feature, your odds of landing the highlighted character have increased significantly to approximately 55%, though it’s not a massive boost, every little bit helps!

HoYoverse has made it clear that this update doesn’t affect the Standard or Weapon banners, but rather, there will be a significant modification in the way the Weapon banner operates.

Easier Weapon Banner in Genshin Impact

In simpler terms, the mechanism called “Epitomized Path” associated with the highlighted Weapon Banner is set for enhancement post Genshin 5.0 update. This means that instead of requiring multiple Fate Points, players will now only need a single Fate Point to ensure obtaining their preferred weapon.

Let me outline the differences between the two situations, before and after the 5.0 update. This description is based on the assumption that you don’t obtain your selected weapon early.
